Wii console question

I don't have a baldy about wii consoles but thinking of getting a new telly. New telly doesn't have a scart input. So how would I connect the childrens' wii console if we purchase the one we're thinking of?

Can it be connected using HDMI?

You can also buy HDMI adapters for the Wii. They claim to upscale but I've never seen on in use so not sure whether that's true or not. The Wii can output in 720p though as far as I recall.

Possibly, I haven't used mine in years so not sure. There were definitely two options although the more I think of it I think you might be right.
