Came across footage of that minor penalty

Question is, where the fcuk did the referee go? Lucky for him it wasn't Louth he was referring, talk about feeding the lions.
Westmeath - Home of the Christy Ring Cup...

Don't know why the Maroons were so riled up. Should have took their batin' like men.

Was talking to Cake in a pub the other night, sound fella actually (for a Ross)

armaghniac

Cake should have a bit of business these days, stemming the floodwaters.

Cake when the Monaghan keeper went down with a foot injury when Monaghan were ahead by one point "ah referee, he's just play-acting, he's not injured!'", with the widest smile a man could possibly have.

A club defending their own? Yeah, never heard that one before.

Sorry lads, but you'd have your black and amber pitch-forks out if you won the semi and had a Brigid's referee who gave you zero scoreable frees the entire game in the final and let the opposition away with an offense that, if the yellow had been given to the correct player, should have left them with 14 men for over half the match. If you then happened to lose this forum would die under the strain of righteous indignation.

Perspective, please.

Deifinitely would have been better for Mc Stay not to have passed comment.

Cross genuinely would have wished St Brigids the best but Mc Stay's comments tainted this a bit.

But nothing should be allowed to take away from St Brigid's winning the All Ireland.

They won it fair and square and any team coming from 8 down to win deserves it.

Mc Stay is entitled to his opinion. Storm in a teacup really.

Rossfan

The only way McStay could have realistically made any comment was if Brigid's won.
Otherwise it would have been seen as sour grapes.
I am NOT a Brigid's person and am looking forward to seeing them dumped out of the Ros Championship this year.
I am not a great McStay fan eother ... but fair play to him and McHale for what they brought to Brids this year.

We're going to bring home the SAM

As usual, a story out of nothing. McStay had every right to feel aggrieved at the appointment of Hughes. There were plenty of other referees available which would not have left the GAA open to accusations of bias no matter how misplaced. The blame lies with whoever is responsible for appointing the referees. Cross rightly defended their own man in their club notes in a local paper, no big deal. I thought he done a good job reffing the game but in a sport where the referee can increasingly have almost a bigger influence on the result than any of the players, this appointment should not have happened.

Hughes refereed the game very well, he made a mistake, one maybe at the most. How many mistakes did the players make? How people are still harping on about this is beyond me. He deserved his final as did the teams that played, get da fook over yourselves ffs.

Most on here haven't refereed a game at county club finals level nevermind intercounty or All Ireland club finals, referees aren't robots they like the players sometimes make mistakes, what they don't do is go out of their way to make another team loose. Defo not at Croke Park
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought. Ea

So in a Connacht final, the ref can't come from a county defeated by the finalists? This doesn't leave many options.

Turlough O Carolan

Ros teams have won two major All-Irelands in the last 7 years. Hughes reffed both fairly. Hope we have him when we make that senior final.
