Lately I've become very careful about trying to make any photo manipulation I do unobtrusive but it's always a lot of fun every now and then to cut loose with the editing - this began life as a full colour, digital photograph:

Turlough House, the National Museum of Country Life (County Mayo, birr). It's free admission to the estate, the house and the museum itself, well worth a Sunday afternoon trip.

This may sound stupid but......... is there a certain name for a type of photo which is taken which makes all the lights twinkle or run into each other. You always see them when the pictures of the city roads are taken and there are starkingly fantastic beams of lightswhere the cars have gone. I think these types of pictures are fascinating.

Not a stupid question, lad, especially if you are using a piece of technology and simply don't know how to use it.  Every day is a school day.

You get Star-shot filters which can be 6-point and above. These add a twinkle effect to lights in photos.  I have a 6- and an 8-point.

A mate has ND8 and ND4(? I think) Neutral Density Filter which creates some amazing effects.
