Well-done Roscommon , listening to willies commentary was gas , some don't like his style but he's brilliant IMO. Sounds like ros are strong and hardend . Did ros have a change of s&c program/coach?

They will fancy beating our bucks next week.

Granted it's just the FBD league but only six scores in a 70 match isn't a good look.

Sounded like a fairly putrid display but not sure you can read much from FBD with it being played in the middle of Sigerson games, challenge games, hard training, etc. Usually the side that wants the win more on the day wins.

How did your man from Underdogs do I wonder?
No not a good display at all.
Very disjointed.
Our forwards were brutal apart from Walsh who looked threatening.
McHugh kicked probably 5 or 6 scoreable frees wide.
Shane & GOD were our two best performers.
Referee frustrated just about everyone in attendance with his performance.
I genuinely feel sorry for teams in upcoming league & championship who have to endure that guy reffing their games.
Cooney (the underdogs guy) didn’t do much.
Not a time to panic as its the FBD but they will have to up things considerably over the next few weeks.
Unfortunately it will be closer to the end of the league before a lot of the bodies are back.

Heard he had an awful day on the frees alright and that's usually his forte.

Liam Devenney certainly lived up to his reputation today, completely useless. Hopefully we won't have him refereeing any more of our games this year. Galway were a shambles today and the worrying thing is that could be the bones of the team that plays Cavan next week. We're already without the Corofin lads and Comer, Johnny Heaney and Declan Kyne limped off today along with Cillian McDaid who didn't play because of a hamstring issue. A serious turn around needed for next week.

Going to be very understrength for next week and I presume Cavan will be coming more or less fully loaded. Bit of a must win game too given the tough away fixtures to come after.

Looks like Galway will be missing

Damien Comer
Eamon Brannigan
John Daly
Paul Conroy
Adrian Varley
Bernard Power
Ian Burke
Liam Silke
Dylan Wall
Michael Farragher
Kieran Molloy
Jason Leonard

With serious doubts over

Declan Kyne
Johnny Heaney
Cillian McDaid

FBD retained, good attitude and organisation in defence by our boys, took no crap from Galway who had a lot of wides .
Hopefully now that we have someone managing and organising  the team the 4-24 days are over.

However it's only th'oul FBD and will be forgotten about by 7.15 next Saturday when the real League starts.
Galway probably have their eyes and focus set on July and August whereas we have to take it one day at a time.
Hope the lads listen back to the RTÉ radio panel today who have us hot favourites for relegation.
2018- 2 Cupeens won, 2 to go.

Definitely so,would be a tad worried about galway after today's performance, maybe enough credit is not been given to roscommon and the way they defended and tackled in swarms. They were way sharper especially in the first half.Newly promoted teams always have a little extra done and this is why galway and mayo should be on guard next weekend.looking forward to it though.

"newly promoted teams have a little extra done" Galway started back in mid October, Roscommons first get together under Cunningham was not until the first weekend of December.

For what it’s worth Kevin Walsh was on the radio afterwards saying they are a good bit behind where they were this time last year.

I have low enough expectations for the league to be honest. Survive and move on. Hopefully.

Maybe it's time Kevin started sending his lads out to play football instead of the nasty stuff.

Comhghairdeachas to the neighbours

Cunningham is good for interviews

"They have learned from Galway today. They are a cute team and a very experienced team. Every day we go out is a learning day. It's good for the guys. It's great for confidence.
"Every day you're involved in sport is a plus. To be involved with players that want to get better is very satisfying but there are really tough days ahead of us. We'll turn up anyway."
The lads are able to play there is no doubt about it, it’s just coaching and practicing and getting that bit cuter.
“You have got to learn these things. You can’t train for a lot those things and practice a lot of those things because you get a sucker punch but it’s how you react. We go through that quite often with the players. Hopefully they’ll build from that, but it’s massively competitive and they’re going to have to learn.”
Sure it's only the league

I'd be of the same view, Galway had a nearly perfect league campaign last year and I don't expect that it will be the same this year.
Cavan could well win next Sunday if they are in any good shape and then with the Dubs and Monaghan to follow in short order after that, Galway could be in a hole very early.
We saw last year how a decent Kildare team got caught in a spiral of bad/unlucky defeats early on and were out of Division One before they knew it, up to some of the Galway squad players to step up and make their mark now.
