I would say these macrory semi finals could be called off again this weekend. Rain doesnt seem to be going away

omagh_gael

St Pat's Dungannon come back from 5 down in second half to win by 3 in the end...that's one Tyrone team in the final with Omagh up next in their semi at 7pm.

Aaron Boone

Omagh 0-10 Abbey CBS 0-6 at HT in Fintona.

Great win for the Abbey tonight!!

Fair play to Abbey. Was kind of on the fence with Omagh. Think they have a stronger team next year? Who'd be favourites for the final now?

bennydorano

Dungannon have rode their luck in every knock out round, Abbey have got better with every round, think my money would be on the Abbey- hopefully i won't scud them!

Saw abbey a few times and fancied them to go far.
Great result !

A drought from 2009 broken or a drought from 2006 broken. Good to see it

Will be my first time seeing this O'Rourke buck in action for the Abbey, looking forward to it

Wildweasel74

Where that final be, Armagh?

Quote from: Splash on January 21, 2026, 07:18:04 PMConsidering the Abbey takes its colours from the Down county colours, it is fair to say it is a Down institution.

St Colman's similarly another Down institution.

Of course, goes without saying that both accommodate for those who come to them from the Armagh side of the Clanrye.
Interesting splash
Abbey play in red black and amber
Down play in red and black
Armaghs original colours up to the junior all Ireland  1926 were black and amber
So I think you will find that the abbey take its colours from the original county colours of both counties

Interesting observation. But the colours of a neighbouring county are not that relevant to the colours.

The black and yellow was originally taken as tribute towards Edmund Rice and his native county of Kilkenny.

The red was added for Down.

So I'll think you find this is where the Abbey take their colours from.

Aquinas win the mclarnon cup
Great result for the work being done in the city
Think Bredagh was the backbone to the team

Tough on Eunans to travel on a crap night, aquinas handled the conditions better.

Awuinas a little bit fortunate with the first half goal (steps) however the better side overall and two of their forwards (11 and 13) standout.

Comprehensive win, did I read that Eunans beat them in the group stages?? Some turnaround.

Aquinas is a grammar school, I think.
