Are they all GFCs? What happened CLGs? No hurling or handball played at all?

Has the protocol for this all changed now? What happened to the one club philosophy? GAC / CLG?

I've seen a couple of clubs now which are explicitly GFC, but most are still CLGs, which is why I was suprised all of these lads were from GFCs.

Look at the counties involved, I can't speak for Kildare or Kerry, but in Louth and Meath there are only a handful of hurling clubs. In Louth we only have a total of six hurling clubs as far as I'm aware and four of them are dual clubs. There would be a few more in Meath, but for size it would be a similar proportion. An example of the way it would work here is lads playing hurling for Kilmessan and playing football with Dunsany! So, bottom line, it's more the norm to be a CLP than a CLG in these parts.
