Killoe 2-09
Mostrim 0-14

Killoe went easy on us, very easy!

Clonguish are out.

Mostrim v Abbey

Listening to the end of it as Killoe took off Larry Moran and seemed to do a lot of passing the ball around in defence, it almost seemed as if a point was being made. Funny that.

Yes............it did seem that Killoe knew that a Clonguish clubman was head of the Longford Hearings Committee that had banned them for 48 weeks.

Maybe that was coinkydink.

Maybe Killoe felt sorry still for beating us in a county final in 198? when we were hot favourites.
They even must have forgiven us for staylin Christy and Wilsheen Kennedy in the late 70s and they more Killoe than......I dunno.....a 100% Killoe thing.

I think it was simply an alignment of these factors above. Or perhaps 100% uimhir a h-aon.

Or indeed that the aforementioned Clonguish clubman had written to the DRA to complain about them "reciting" rules and regulations and demanding a new reconstituted DRA which would presumably order a nuclear strike on Kiernan's Forge.

Last two quarter-finals on Sunday, apparently, although the Longford GAA website doesn't seem to have caught up yet:

Granard v Killoe, Sun, 1pm
Abbeylara v Mostrim, Sun, 4pm

Odds all now back after an unfortunate interval:

Paddy Power (https://www.paddypower.com/gaelic-games/longford-club-football?tab=outrights)

Mullinalaghta Evens 10/11
Killoe 7/2
Longford Slashers 7/1 4/1
Abbeylara 15/2 8/1
Granard 10/1
Mostrim 28/1 20/1

Ladbrokes (https://sports.ladbrokes.com/competitions/gaa/gaelic-football/club-football)

Mullinalaghta 6/5 11/10
Killoe 3/1 11/4

Abbeylara 11/2 6/1
Granard 50/1 14/1
Mostrim 33/1 20/1

Is there any date for the county final yet? Match away to Derry in the league is the 17th October I think.

Suppose there wont be any crowd allowed attend it anyway, maybe 200 max.

Mostrim result no surprise to me. Had doubts about the management team, but they seem to be squeezing the best out of the team. Best performance from us in years. Killoe will probably be that bit stronger the next day, but all our forwards contributed scores today. Interesting week ahead as Hurling final fixed for Wednesday with 11 of the Mostrim panel involved, The Minor final fixed for Saturday with Tiernen Hussey playing and then the Senior semi for the club on Sunday.
Now you face having no Hurling final and no County Hurling team as the 11 Wolfe Tones players have dropped off the panel and a repeat of last years  U-16 fiasco. Surprising (not) seeing who is in the background arranging hurling fixtures. St Brigids Killashee in the Intermediate final on Saturday as well as Grattan Og have a number of players involved with Slashers.

We have a couple of players involved with Slashers in the hurling as well to add to the merriment.

The foot shooting capacity knows no bounds.

Hurling final can wait until a suitable Sunday in October surely to Jazes.
