Was thinking of buying a kindle but have been put off by stories about how you can't 'lend' or 'borrow' books for it?

Whihc is the best e-reader out there?

Can you buy Amazon books for other types than kindle?

I have a kindle and I must say, it's excellent. Can't say a bad word about it. You'll be able to download any book you want on the Internet and transfer it over sure

You can get a Kindle app for the iPad, though I don't think an iPad is suitable for your needs.

I used the kindle app on my tablet for a while but it's not ideal. Bigger than a book and the backlit screen hurts the eyes a little after a while.

The Kindle is not compatable with the systems used by libraries for lending e-books. This may be the issues you have heard of.
