Eye popping stuff OK. As an aside, I was taken aback at the revelation that the Celtic Cross has been co-opted as a symbol by racist white supremacists. As Saint Colmcille used to say, WTF?

Yeah, I heard about this around 20 years ago when a German friend of mine decided to settle in Kerry to run a specialist mail order business (no, no, no - it was a German indie music records club), because of all the grief he was getting in Germany to do with Celtic crosses (which had then been adopted as a symbol by the far right to replace the swastika).  Bizarre stuff - he thought, in his uniquely German fashion, that there wouldn't be an issue with him being able to send things with Celtic crosses on them from Kerry.  Funnily enough, the deal he did with An Post made it cheaper for him to post records to his clients in Germany than it was from Germany.  Anyway, I digress.

This is like something from Father Ted  :o

"...and we also have Miss Italy, who has honoured us here today with her presence, and she is a lovely sweet girl."

"You bring the beer and we will bring the wine and whoever loses, we will get drunk together."

Missed last nights programme on Panorama, hoping to catch it tonight. Do people genuinely think Irish fans could be in for a hostile reception in Polska? Personally i wouldnt have thought so. Surely our pasty skin will bode well for us there.

I was genuinely shocked by the Panorama programme. Poland looked to be bad but Ukraine was ridiculous. The tournament should not be going there.

The English largely sorted out their hooliganism problem and bad and all as it was I don't think it was at the level I saw in the Ukrainian games. England was a pariah in world football at the time but Ukraine gets a major tournament, it defies belief.

Come to think of it, I know a few Irish lads with Celtic Cross tattoo's. I believe they have them for very different reasons to the lads in the documentary. They might even make a few unwanted new friends over there.

I hope the police there are discerning enough to tell the difference.
It won't be the next manager but the one after that Meath will become competitive again - MO'D 2016

AQMP

England:  Lampard out, Parker doubtful for first game, Gary Neville might get a run out!

Cold tea

If Italy do go out will there be time for a replacement team to be entered ?

Dreadful.
Some things should just be left alone. Joxer goes to Stuttgart is one of them.

Is this the England supporters thread?

Is there an Irish one?

Was wondering that myself.

This was getting a lot of love on Twitter yesterday. Houghton's goal from '88 even makes an appearance.

There is an Official FAI thread on here. This thread is about Euro 2012 and all the teams in it.
What's your problem?
