Listening to Eugene McGee there on Newstalk.
I think I aged 5 years in the space of 5 minutes.
He's the most dour man on planet earth plus he doesn't know the names of half the players out there.
He was going on about Jim McGuinness having to retire at the age of 30 when he meant Kevin Cassidy.
Then he goes, "Not him... d'other fella."
He was talking about Tipperarys 'PE man' (Dr Cian O'Neill) that left for Mayo as well.
God almighty we are very poorly served by the people that are paid to cover our games.
If you were any use you'd be playing.

One retired newspaperman now a "pundit" gets something wrong and you're off on a rant.

I think a long walk followed by a scatter of pints might do you good  ;D

There are good people in every walk of life but the standard of GAA analysis is abysmal. Most reporters covering games have no fundamental understanding of the game and cannot articulate even the simplest concepts. Most papers are blessed with an odd decent hack but as just 2 examples look at the absolute drivel the sunday world + BT serve up in every edition

What is the best GAA paper out there?
Inaugural Football Championship Prediction Winner.

I have to say the Irish news is atrocious for hurling.
"When it's too tough for them, it's just right for us"

Do I have to do the long walk?

Eugene McGee has always been, is and will always be a dickhead of a pundit.

Pints always taste better after being out in the fresh air  :D

I always thought McGee was decent enough as a pundit, maybe because he used to give less fashionable counties like Cavan and longford a look in when he wrote. Brehony on the other hand does nothing but talk rubbish.

Roy Curtis is without doubt the worst journalist about. He is the crappy cliche King.
Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

Easily the worst, Id say he thinks he is a poet, sometimes you would need to read his stuff 3 times to understand it. So now i just dont bother
