Fair play to him, took the English FA for a ride.....5 years of serious cash and off he goes :D

He knows that the media will totally build up the teams chances, despite the hostility between:
Utd & Liverpool players,
Chelsea & Utd players' relatives,
Spurs and the revenue,
a Captain that bangs (rather than builds) Bridges,
a striker who may soccer hat-tricks every game, break a metatarsal or not score for a year,

and when they inevitably crash out Capello will be blamed mercilessly.

Whatever about John Terry's innocence or lack of Capello's just right. There's a legal process underway and until that concludes Terry's innocent and what right have the FA to decide who the Captain is?

That's the managers job and Capello isn't the kind of character you're going to walk over too easily so I'd imagine once the notion of an apology/joint press conference was floated he told them where to go.

Or else he realises he can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear and bolted the first chance he got whilst maintaining his dignity!

The job of England manager is a poisoned chalice. They never win anything and they will never win anything. To call them underachievers is an understatement.

Poor Harry, he literally got out of jail today. And now he faces this sh1te for the next couple of months.

Not sure Harry would want this gig now! He'll be more surprised at todays announcement, as he seen Capello as a buffer for a couple of years. Spuds are a serious enough outfit, and would be hard to leave with Champs Lge looming again next year. International Football is usually a retirement home for Managers who have achieved and don't want the day to day stuff!

If Harry took the job, he'd get a honeymoon period (from the media). The only other person who would get an easy ride would be someone like Beckham gettng the gig (and that is so daft it could happen)!

Arry would get a marathon honeymoon period though. He's a media darling over there and has plenty of mates amongst the football journalists.

Jim McGuinness would put smacht on the English footballers.
He wouldn't take any messing from Rooney.  He'd be like a mixture between  Glenn Hoddle and Dick Cheney

You would have to say it though that the English appetite for self-destruction at sports international level is truly astounding. I mean look at their rugby team as another example. Who was the last English soccer manager who left on favourable grounds with the FA and the media? Only the French possess the same ability to sabotage their own chances by repetitive revolts and disagreements.
