Who were the favourites to get demoted this year, the medja usually predicts Mayo, 1996 and still counting  ;D
1996 one of Mayo's most heartbreaking years probably best you stop mentioning that year.

As for the semi finals should be the way it use to be e.g between Tyrone v Cork Kildare v Kerry.
The key to success is to be consistently competitive -- if you bang on the door often it will open

Why should division 2 teams be in a league semi-final?

The old way would of been;
                                          Kerry v Fermanagh
                                          Cork V Longford
                                          Down v Kildare
                                          Mayo v Tyrone
Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

The league has been changed many times over the last few decades even talk of going back to Div 1a 1b next year & those semi finals would make more sense than a 3rd,4th place team in 8 team Division.

There seemed to be good response to this last week so here's my tactical piece on Cork's win over Dublin in the last round of league games yesterday http://action81.com/blog/?p=5687

Cork are so frustrating. When they started with quick,direct ball into the full forward line they looked like they could beat Dublin by a cricket score. Then, they went back to their old ways of slow,laboured build up in the backline and looked toothless in attack. They need to come onto the ball at pace and break through the tackles and they didn't do that yesterday.
