Hoof Hearted

I think Cargin have made a statement by retaining their management and strengthening their backroom team.
You don't become 2nd best just by one bad game.
Ist year with new rules, for everyone obviously, but suited others better.
Dunloy very much so.
Cargin can't just shut up shop and close out games the way they did, and did it very well tbf.

Cargin very much still favourites in my eyes, but as Dunloy, Madden and Loughmacrory proved last year, there's hope for everyone.

New management's are a big thing too, aswell are retaining the tried and trusted.
We saw what MOR done with Glen a few years back.
A talented team who were struggling to get over the line, then......

Quote from: NatSoSaff on February 26, 2026, 03:26:06 PMI wonder how much the injury to Deccy Smith will hit Dunloys chances. I'd forgotten about that. It's a serious injury to come back from and he was crucial to them last year. Mick McCanns retirement will be of equal if not more impactful on Cargin. There could well be more of the older hands hanging up the boots there in addition to that. I agree with the previous poster that Matthew and Conor Downey returning to Lavey wont be as significant a loss to St.Brigids as has been made out.

Cue the ridicule, but I think I'm convincing myself it might just be Creggans year!  ;D

Mick McCann's retirement may be greatly exaggerated

Taking up refereeing full time?  ;)

 ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D

All about opinions, sure nothings won on Gaaboard lol. So many 50/50 games, league will be interesting, but Cship the big prize.

Is McNamee heading for a new destination in 2026??

How so ? Can you explain how the county u20 were a "pub team" or is this just another of your click bait lines like you X account ?

NatSoSaff

I wouldn't pay much attention Saffs, this board clearly has a handful of guys who have either been slighted by a manager or are jealous of certain individuals achievements or individuals appointed to certain roles.

A stronger looking line-up for todays game if the Antrim posting is accurate. Eunan Walsh at midfield and Cathal Hynds at full back gives much better balance.

My X account is for professional work and I don't post/like or retweet anything relating to GAA.

I watched them v Tyrone and they looked extremely poorly coached.
Would you disagree?

Two more points today, we could finish on 8 points after a disasterous start to the season.

Plenty of good individual performances and there was intensity in the tackles that were noticably absent in previous games.

Looks like management have turned things around, credit where its due.

100%

That performance was better in my opinion than last weeks but it was also a cold night! Called in to the crosskeys for a victory pint

Well done players and management credit where it's due

Good result by Antrim. Things taking  bit of shape now.

2 wins in a row will build confidence. Still plenty to play for.

Peter Healy back would make a noticable difference too. Good to see him in the warm up.

Jinny starting to settle in and look much more like his Cargin version. Paddy McAleer got his hand on some ball, and there were no stand out negative performances, everyone put in a shift.

GAA is ALL about pride of place. We have often been in div 4...but never have we been rooted to the bottom. Thankfully we are up and running and hopefully at the start of a progress curve.

Ia there anyway promotion is possible?
