We can't be looking at his other job as a reason here. Unless I'm missing something

Are you seriously suggesting that the amount of time and effort involved in managing a club team has no impact on him doing his job at county level?

Yes.. most people have normal day to day jobs, 40 hour weeks. I'm not sure of his normal work, nor does it matter..

If he's able to look after Antrim 3 or 4 days a week currently and 2 days or three for club can you say that's impossible? Especially considering clubs are not up and running..

I was actually doing the twitter updates today so had my focus on that and probably missed bits as i was updating things but felt like the 2 point situation was definitely a big difference between the teams. Think Longford landed 6 and Antrim landed 2 with both coming late in the game from Pat Shivers.

They had a few scorers willing to take on shots with 7, 11, 12 and 15 all getting their fair share. We didn't carry the same impact and it felt like we were trying to force our way through a bit with McCabe and Jordan willing to run at players but sometimes it would have been good to have an option to play it back to the arc when Longford packed the area in front of their goal.

I thought McQuillan, Shivers and Murray all looked lively at different parts of the game and Loughran took his goal well but in these new rules, 2 pointers are massive and aside from the 2 Pat scored and one Jinny dropped short, I don't remember many efforts at them so think that should be a big focus for the rest of the campaign.

Confidence will be low after relegation last year and a bad start this year so hopefully they can get a win or two before the league ends and set themselves up with a platform to build on.

Clann Eireann aren't starting to train until March so the can't even be to blame for the shit show.

We are at a low ebb this evening and as has been said before we have have not shown much at underage recently to see anything positive coming along.

How do we change it?

I have never heard of an inter county manager taking a club job in the same season. Not saying it doesn't happen but there's a reason why it's very rare.........

Milltown Row2

The logistics is on the manager but his time with either club or county should be grand in my view

I'd say if you are constantly working at something (coaching manager) it's is second nature?

Where it becomes an issue is if he's meant to be at country training and can't make it as he's with the club team..

The make up of county v club regards to the calendar there wouldn't be many cross overs at the business end

Ultimately if we're sitting on 3 wins from 3 games, Clann Eireann doesnt get a mention. Things havent started well so it is a stick to beat him with. Reality is none of us know how his time is spent but in his position as Antrim manager, it's all about getting results and they badly need a boost at the minute.

Christmas Lights

Antrim: M Byrne, P McCormick, P Healy, E McCabe; D McAleese, D Lynch, M Jordan; J Finnegan, C Hynds; P McBride, A Loughran, R McCann (Creggan); R Boyle, R McCann (St Mary's), D McEnhill. Subs: G Walsh for Healy (17), E Quinn for Finnegan (51), C Johnston for R McCann (Creggan), C McLarnon for McBride (63), O Eastwood for Loughran (70)

Team that ran Meath to 2 points a couple of years ago in  TC semi. Still quite a few involved.

As someone said, this needs to be built from the ground up. Really need to get the youth standards up across the board but how do you square the circle in getting a senior team to inspire the youth of today? Looking at the table, currently the worst football team in Ireland tonight.

Bring back club football

Alex Ferguson used to say when United played Spurs - "lads it's Spurs" - I'd safely say every county in Ireland says "lads it's Antrim" when they play Antrim. That's where you are. Whether you like it or not. And that's before you consider hiring a grifter like Doran.

ONeill

Must be Antrim's lowest ebb in a long time.
I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.

Our game plan was all wrong today. Sit back and encourage two pointers.

Players ofcourse have alot to answer for and looking at Longford today, they are by no means beating boys of Div 4 but I still have to question why we've lost players and why we are playing a style of football that is obviously not working

Having been at the game think this is a bit wrong.

Could hear doran roaring most of the game for the defence to step out and put hits on but never seemed to happen.

Going forward very blunt.

Only real threat today was Adam thought he was real good when he got the ball.

Cnoc Bán

Is Ruairi McCann (Aghagallon) injured?

Always thought he caused teams problems when he played

And if we had someone in on the square taking attention of defenders, it might free space further out for 2 pointers.

Clutching at straws here because I'm at a loss as to how poor we are at the minute.

Even if we could look at a strong defence as a foundation to build on that would be a bit of hope, but we haven't got that at all.

Think the goalkeeper situation has taken us a big backwards step from Byrne.

Ruairi stepped away from county.

The sad thing is here that we could be looking at being the worst team in Ireland in the very near future if something doesn't change...
