It's a fickle aul game

Nothing fickle about it. If you lose your first two games in the worst division in Ireland you should be critised.

Whether you are a manager, coach or player.

NatSoSaff

I'd be reluctant to be over critical when we've barely just broken into the month of February. Admittedly I haven't seen either league game, but the reality is that it's a new management team getting to know the group and a clattering of new players finding their feet within the squad also. You can make the argument that they should still be good enough to beat Carlow and Tipp, but realistically what has given us the right to do that in recent years? Have we proved that beyond doubt? It'll certainly not be a great look not getting out of division 4. But give the man time to improve performances and see if we can start to build wins and momentum for the tailteann cup. It certainly still appears that key figures are not yet at full fitness to start games, others are absent through injury currently, and other contributors like McQuillan and Hynds are obviously being managed due to sigerson cup involvement. It doesn't appear to be all doom and gloom if we put some perspective on it.

The choice of venue for that game is farcical, as difficult as it is to get suitable venues this time of year.

Paddy stepping away from the county is huge loss.

Wonder what the reason was?

That's a shocker. Anyone know why he left?

NatSoSaff Mc Quillan eats the ball anytime he gets it,not a team player and as for Cathal Hynds he's not good enough for county level, must've gave away 4/5 frees within 10 mins off coming on against Donegal,as for P Mc Bride throwing out the baby with the bath water,no big loss, not a team player either

NatSoSaff

Eating the ball seems to be serving him and Queens well at the minute at sigerson cup level. Hynds going nicely for them too according to reports.
It's disappointing to read paddy has stepped away, and I'm sure he has his reasons and will rightly do what suits him and his family best. Doran just has to go forward with those who want to be there whilst trying to stem any more withdrawals.

Joe Finnegan dropped from QUB sigersons team but stays on Antrim?
Mc Quillian is doing well for QUB maybe should be more time with county
Hynds isn't good enough to start county I'd agree but it's unfair to say Patrick is no big loss.

He done his bit for more than a decade. Even players we consider great servants such as Paddy Cunningham stopped playing county for a long time during his peak club years.

It's also abit of a joke having McCabe in as captain seeing as he missed pre-season because he was holidaying.

Regardless of everything that's went before you have to ask, Why was Mark Doran appointed without any backroom team?

Who was on the appointment committee?

If you know or follow mccabe you will know the shape he keeps himself in. And id imagine trained as hard as anyone while he was away

The county assistant treasurer was the man given the job by the chairman of sourcing manager. Very strange . The fact that Colin kelly and Colm nally applied as a joint team but didn't get it baffles me.

Saffsof82

That Barry Dillion applied and didn't even get the courtesy of an interview even more baffling

paddyjohn

Jobs for boys. Square pegs in round holes from top to bottom.

Thank god for normal everyday people who run clubs because those who run county have no morals and even less sense.

Keeps himself in some shape but has only played a handful of games over the past 3 seasons with Antrim because he's been out injured?

It's absolutely nothing against McCabe I simply don't understand why he'd be in as captain after missing preseason
