I think we need to go back to straight knock out. Enough of the this group rubbish.

Correct. It's shite. Sort the leagues out proper, make it a real competitive competition and then straight do or die knock out championship. Don't like group formats at all,  doesn't have any real championship feel to the games imo

How do you make a league competitive when you only have a few players available for most of the season?

Also what does it achieve? Other than staying up or promotion from the bottom tiers bigger teams aren't that motivated and happier to stay up, do enough and concentrate on the championship

Personally I'd get rid of the groups, have a knockout, but... with a backdoor, that second bite of the cherry..

Most of our underage teams get drubbed every year. Cargin got drubbed in the Ulster Club. How would the county team be anything other than near the bottom.
