That's us 1/3 of the way through the league and it's an interesting enough table.

What's are the main gripes based on what we have seen so far?

Eh, the main one would remain that ultimately it means Fu@& all!

The Jonnies are sitting rock bottom. good chance they'll stay there or at least in bottom 4.

Will they get relegated? Absolutely not. They're too good when their players come back to win their relegation play off and will likely be a match for most come championship.

I assume the return of the county men will be short lived with the 'B' all Ireland on the horizon, so there we have st brigids, ballymena, Glenravel in particular all getting kicked in the proverbial's for another few league rounds.

But yeah the leagues great   ::)

You've explained in your answer why the leagues actually work!!

Na Glinntí Glasa

I have to laugh at the moaning about this years league. I mean seriously? The leagues have always meant nothing to clubs.

Its not like this is some sort of new experience for everyone concerned.

The hurling league has been like this for years with the end up the reserve leagues dont exist anymore. They have all now ended up in Division 2/3/4 for this year and so far it seems to be much better for clubs to get all their panels game time.

In previous D1 seasons we have lost to nearly every club at some point. It happens when you are playing your squad players and younger lads to see if they can make the standard.

I was at our game v Tir na nOg last night and it was decent to watch. 38 scores between the teams, 8 goals and a late levelled for the visitors.

A panel of players who are getting good game time at a higher level - getting results - who are minus some injured lads and missing 7 county hurlers who can play

Also, there was no cover charge  ;D

Glenravel showing some quality last night running the champs a lot closer than expected !!

I heard some whispers whoever was referee PG1 and Biddies was very lenient to the city men and gave a lot of handy scores to them !!

Ballymena showing strength too

Sarsfields with a convincing victory and Lisburn still motoring well , Moneyglass with a good result also and St Endas starting to find their feet

imtommygunn

I see sarsfields play moneyglass in the next round of games - that should be a good one. St Agnes look to be running away with division 3 currently though I guess early days.

Ballymena 1+

The downside of the new rules is that you can nearly call winners based on who has the more effective kick out/biggest lads in midfield.

Clearly Not 🤣 think our lads surprised even including themselves real tough game away from home
