Dont lay all the blame at the Ulster Councils door here, as much as it will pain you - our own county are not without blame regarding the switch (as Bannside alluded to at the start of this conversation).

Maybe you are on the county board? With statements like Ballycastle that would add up   :D

If we are going to move this game out of Corrigan to facilitate the number of people who can attend, it should be in Derry or Newry.

paddyjohn

After you've sold the farm lads, make sure and sell the house aswell.

Roll over and get the bellies tickled there sure.

Duine Inteacht Eile

Quite the opposite. I don't want it moved out of Corrigan. You do!
If we do that, it may as well be Newry as Ballycastle.

Gael-in-exile

I think the views on what McManus said are blurred by headlines. He didn't say it has to be kept Corrigan flatly and thus he words about allowing as many to watch as possible are being used against him.
He was being neutral in his view, which could be seen as a more cautious approach to the county players speaking out who seem to be saying they'll not play if it's not in Corrigan and may be pushed to go back on their word.

It's a tough place to be in but I think if your are an Antrim person you want to hold home fixture as much as possible.
What would the Ulster Council view as appropriate minimum capacity?

If the Ulster Council say we can't play in Corrigan then Ballycastle is the next best Venue within our county.

I'm all for Corrigan and hope we stand our ground.

This.

Edit - I dont think there is even the smallest of chances of the result being effected by the venue either. Its a matter of principle only.

McEntee is from Meath, probably as stubborn as they come. I can't see the players and management backing down.  And good on em.

Unless not being allowed to play the Tailteann Cup comes into play...

That's a real possibility.
It shouldn't matter, they should hold their ground. They have full public support across all Ulster counties as far as I can see. Apart from McManus, who is just a puppet for the GAA and has sadly disgraced himself on this, why on earth has he got involved in this publicly?

What has he got involved in this public ally??
He was asked on a GAA show

Davy Fitz was also asked and sidestepped it

Did anyone read what Neil said? I'm struggling to see why people are triggered here
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

Gael-in-exile

I agree with MR2. He didn't say much, but others are reading the headlines it seems.

He could've answered better but I was just pointing out how he got involved publicly

I agree with both of you.  I watched the League Sunday programme and didn't feel that said anything out of place.  Imo he tried to sit on the fence but didn't really word things well which left himself open to journalists etc taking what he actually said out of context.
