Do Antrim ever get refs from other counties in to referee? Armagh have a few Tyrone and Down men refereeing.

Quote from: NorthAntrimSaff on Today at 11:58:34 AMThe "tops refs" probably don't have time for training as they are out maybe six days a week between underage/ladies/camogie etc.

Not sure of the reason but i noticed one of our top refs not out at all this weekend. Hopefully another reason apart from not being selected

They don't have time for training? What do they be at pre season? The better refs over the recent past were from the SW whom seem to have hung them up for whatever reason. I'd put Colm McDonald in that bracket also, rarely any chaos surrounding him.

Kevin Parke out this weekend again at Dunloy/Lougheil
With the history between those 2, and his policy of letting things go, it could be tasty.

Let no-one say the best hurlers belong to the past. They are with us now, and better yet to come

At least we'll get a bit of decent commentary on the game even if it is As Gaelige

Definitely the football and not the hurling??

Yeah I heard it was the football

That'd be great. (also the hurling would be great too  ;D ) Maybe they can tweet the live scores then too  ;D

I would say that game yesterday will have done Cargin the world of good. I didn't see Dunloy but they'd need to not be as open defense wise as Creggan were. Cargin will probably have learnt a lot. Some would say they got out of jail but they were probably the better team though just about.

Hard to see Dunloy beating them. Be interesting to see what happens for them in the hurling.

Caesar

I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss Dunloy. It would be an upset but I do think they're capable

The streaming numbers would be higher in the hurling than football I would say

Just cant see it.  May make a fist of it for a while but see Cargin pulling away.  I think it will be very like the final of 2 years ago.

Around the glens

The breach call on Friday night was brutal. If dunloy lost that game by a point, the new rules seem to have brought more room for error.

Cargin rightly favourites but dunloy better coached and set up than 2 years ago. They've already met in the group and will know what each other will be bringing.
