This appeared on my facebook wall this morning, was just wondering was there any truth in it?

"Marian Price will be appearing in a secret court trial within Maghaberry gaol today. She will be facing a non jury board where witnesses cannot be called for the defence. The RUC ,during a house raid yesterday stated that Marian will be having Christmas dinner in Maghaberry this year, So they appear confident that the decision is cut and dried. Marian is held illegally in solitary confinement in an all male gaol, her pardon having been lost - buried - shredded by the brits, So this is the type of British Government tactics that are being used and becoming commomplace amongst republicans.

Spare a thought for Marian . Free Marian Price! End internment"

Forever Green

It has been a disgrace the way Marian Price has been treated. Sinn Fein should be ashamed of themselves in the way they have handled this. I know she is of opposong views but this is a woman who has been locked up without being charged or going on trial while McGuiness and co sit back and let this happen. Hopefully Mrs Price win this battle with these bastards.

As I said before, Torrens Knight convicted of a violent crime while on early release yet does not have to serve his original term, yet this woman has been convicted of nothing and is locked up.

Sinn Féin comment on Marian Price caseMay 16, 2011

Sinn Féin deputy Chair of the Justice Committee Raymond McCartney MLA has condemned the move by the British Secretary of State Owen Patterson to revoke the licence of Marian Price.

Speaking this evening Mr McCartney said;

"Marian Price is entitled to due process and the revoking of her licence is completely unacceptable.

The move by Owen Patterson amounts to detention without trial; this runs contrary to natural justice. The justice system needs to be based on human rights protection; the revoking of Marian Price's licence runs contrary to that.

We have already raised our concerns on this issue with the British Secretary of State and will do the same with the Justice Minister as a matter of urgency." CRÍOCH

Boston College must hand over Delours Price interviews

A US federal judge has ordered Boston College to turn over recorded interviews of a former member of the IRA to federal prosecutors in Boston.

College officials said it would turn over interviews given by Delours Price.

US federal prosecutors subpoenaed the material on behalf of British authorities. It is understood the legal bid is linked to a PSNI investigation.

Judge William G Young ordered the recordings - part of college's 'Belfast Project' - be handed over by Friday.

The college has decided not to appeal Judge Young's order.

It has already turned over tapes of interviews given by Brendan Hughes, a former IRA member who died in 2008.

College officials said any promise of confidentiality ended with his death.

What was termed the 'Belfast Project' took place over five years from 2001 and involved academics, historians and journalists conducting interviews with former republicans and loyalists about their activities during the Troubles.

In return for honest accounts, those who were interviewed were promised that their identities would be kept confidential and that the interviews would be released only after their deaths.

US prosecutors have demanded anything in the college archive related to the 1972 abduction and murder of Belfast mother-of-10 Jean McConville, who the IRA admitted to killing and secretly burying, claiming she was an informer.

Ah the traditional character assassination is alive and well in the Shinner circles.  I could say a lot about current Shinners who dont need to stash their cash anymore but I wouldn't attempt to name and shame them like you have because, like you, I am also anonymous on this and its hardly fair.  Sure its not?

But its still ok for Shinners to character assassinate?  Let's face it, we both know that the Shinners can't come out and form some sort of campaign to release Marian Price.  First reason is because they don't like her, second reason is that this would seriously offend Unionists, particularly in the aftermath of the killing of Ronan Kerr and the Masserene incident, and the Shinners don't really want to upset the apple-cart in Stormont.

On a human level, there are genuine SF activists who do care about Human Rights and in particular Marian's human rights and dignity not to mention that it is disgraceful that she is incarcerated at the behest of the Secretary of State (I thought SF had guaranteed accountability on policing matters like this?  Oh aye, it was civic policing they secured accountability on and not political policing.)  But let's face it, there's not going to be too many white line pickets for her.

Sinn Fein will continue to support Marian Price and agree it is digraceful she is interned, but lets face it Marian hates the leadership of Sinn Fein I would imagine on a matter of principle wouldn't want them on white line pickets along with her 32 county comrades, but to be honest I don't see too many being organized by them maybe they are waiting for the warmer weather as they enjoy a wee run out in July.

I would have thought that for these to be of  any use to a prosecution the person who made the recordings would have to testify as to their authenticity? Going to be interesting watching McIntyre squirm as he tries to reconcile his republican ideal to academic integrity. Though some might say he lost both his integrity and ideals when he took the foremans job on the Priory Hall slum.
