OK, to get us going I'll start with those films who came in at tied 44th place. These movies all received 1 first place vote, for 5 points, and nothing else. In no particular Order, your tied 44th place movies are ....

44   Love Actually   2003
44   The Breakfast Club   1985
44   Cool Hand Luke   1967
44   Doctor Strangelove   1964
44   Koyaanisqatsi   1982
44   Hunger   2008
44   Raging Bull   1980
44   Apocalypse Now   1979
44   Betty Blue   1986
44   Taken   2008
44   Terminator II   1991
44   Kings   2007
44   Carlito's Way   1993
44   Heat   1995
44   2001 A Space Odyssey   1968
44   The French Connection   1971
44   Jean de Florrette   1986

44   Life is Beautiful   1997
44   Roadhouse   1989
44   The Wickerman   1973
44   Jurassic Park   1993
44   Dead Man's Shoes   2004
44   Drive   2011
44   An Officer and a Gentleman   1982
44   The Sting   1973

IMO those films should be higher.

French Connection should be far higher but I am willing to accept the democratic will of the Gaa Board.

It's a great film and probably would have been in my top 5. It's a numbers game though so I have a feeling it'll be dung (IMO) like Braveheart and The Shawshank Redemption in the overall Top 5.

More than one person voted for my Event Horizon then?  Top show, only to be watched when in the horrors.

No benny. You voted for that in 5th place, I.e. one point. Didn't make the cut.
Would have been suprised tbh. Philistines round  here

French Connection was my no 1 did anyone else give it a vote?
The key to success is to be consistently competitive -- if you bang on the door often it will open

AZOffaly

Nope. Don't think so. The referee's decision is final :D

Philistines indeed, i'm the only one to vote for Life is Beautiful??? Find it hard to get the head around that. Right enough had not seen any other votes so didn't even think it would make the list which would have been a travesty! Think a few voted for the Boy in Striped Pyjamas - though might be getting confused with the move recommendations thread - good film no doubt but not in the same league.

Likewise Apocalypse Now, Raging Bull and French Connection...

The Iceman

Some of yous take this too serious. It isn't a beautiful imagery, cinematography, Queens University Master in Film Studies competition.
This is a I could watch this film any time of the day or night if it was on, watch it over and over again and not get sick of it type of thing.....

I will always keep myself mentally alert, physically strong and morally straight

Surprised to see Raging Bull and Apocalyse Now down there!!

Apocalypse Now is the biggest pile of dung I have ever had to sit through.

Three goodies there.  Looks like, for the first time, I'll have three of my five in the Top 50.
My hands are stained with thistle milk ...

Haven't seen The Matrix since it was released. The last in the trilogy ruined it for me but it was a great show in its day.

Have never seen Cinema Paradiso.

Olly
