Fermanagh are playing London on the same day. No Cross boys either. Strong team. Would of imagined Stevy O'Neill would of been there only for the injury.

whats the big deal about the club championship the province system is well established while the club boundarys still move quiet a bit I think it is a great marketing opportunity.Just a thought

Abolish the effin Railway Cup thing and give us all a bit of peace. ;D
Never has so much hot air been exhaled in the pages of the GAA board regarding something  about which nobody gives the proverbial 2 fcuks  :P

It's a fantastic concept with huge vitality, if it were done correctly. I certainly would love to see a properly covered, hyped and situated railway cup, and few players or fans would disagree if it were at a time when it could breath and players didn't need to worry about picking up injuries.

Play the final on St. Patricks day in Croke Park.
If you were any use you'd be playing.

That's a quick recovery from injury by Shine or was the squad picked before last weekend?

Of the 31 man panel

Mayo 8
Galway 7
Roscommon 7
Sligo 6
Leitrim 3
The key to success is to be consistently competitive -- if you bang on the door often it will open

And were they available Cregg, Mannion, Kilbride and Domincan were certs.

Bizarre that Shine is starting, let alone at 11 when the best (Roscommon :P) player in the country at 11, Andy Moran, is fitter than Shine could ever possibly be and should be available. Must have excused himself from contention?

What we need here is a fight to get interest going...

come to think of it, would a province get suspended for five years if there was one?

I presume you're a young gasúnín .  ::)

They've been trying to inject life into this thing since the mid 70s with a total lack of success. It's been tried in Autumn, winter and Spring and no public interest could be aroused at any time.
Hopefully none of our lads pick up any injuries in this sh1te .

Looking forward to the semi in Sligo. Hope to head down and make a weekend of it. Hope it will be well attended. Some of the best footballers in Ulster and Connacht on show. I don't know what all the negativity is about.

Thats a big bench, should be useful if the Ulster subs try pile in. Good thinking Fergie.

Kernan should have picked a bench full of Tyrone men.

If it was done after the inter-county season, when most county championships and most clubs were out of the All-Ireland club chase then all that it would ever need was live tv coverage and aggressive marketing at Croke Park. It's not complicated just because common sense has continually failed the GAA. Cynicism will get the GAA or its supporters no where.
