Looking to buy a full set of jerseys for the secondary school team for the very best price possible.......any ideas welcomed.  Thanks :) :)

No real point in asking here, ask the sales guys at the different suppliers;
Assuming its GAA jerseys you're after, you only have the following choices;
www.oneills.com
http://www.azzurri.ie/
http://gaelicgear.net
http://www.thegaastore.com

Gaelic gear have a crap name among most posters, search for the previous thread.
Haven't heard anything about theGAAstore's MCKeever brand jerseys

If you're only ordering one set, there isn't much room for haggling – but you could order supporters jerseys to sell to students?

get a nice design done by O'Neills

put up a poster to gauge interest in students buying one (with a number on the back) charge tenner extra. guaranteed you'd sell 50 shirts which would nearly cover the cost of the main set
or/and bring it to a local business to say you are getting a set of shirts for the team and there will also be # number of students wearing it around the town. how much sponsorship would they be willing to give?

Thanks for all the info, will get down to some research tomorrow.  Thought about the sponsorship angle, but the school is in a small town and the same couple of businesses get hammered all the time for sponsorship.  Will give them a break on this one.

Saffronandblue, why don't you hit businesses in Castlebar or Ballina. Sure I bet lots of your students and especially parents use these towns for everything and anything. The big towns rely on the small towns, villages and parishes as much as their own suburbs and surrounding areas. I'm sure someone would be as happy to have their name on your schools jersey as Mitchels, Stephanites, St.Geralds, Davitts or St. Muredachs.
Time to take a more chill-pill approach to life.

MGHU is right, get local sponsorship but always go with O'Neills - the rest might be cheaper but its for a reason.  O'Neills are the best without a shadow of a doubt.  We've had our share of manufacturers and quite frankly none really came close apart from Azzuri (but even at that the quality wasn't as good).  School jerseys will do you a good 5 years so spend the money and go for O'Neills.

another few ideas -

The Parents Association. they often fundraise to buy equipment for the school. float the idea of new jersies to someone on the committee
HSE - who is the local health promotion officer? I know of a few schools who had jersies sponsored with anti-smoking/healthy choices logos on them

Maroon Heaven

just out of interest- kukri is now getting more involved with gaa sportswear - they have been excellent tomany rugby clubs up and down the country

kukri, you can t be serious i was waiting 16 weeks for gear and its a rugby brand so let it stay that way. trust me stay local

Anybody know anything about the above.

Don't be relying on the TESTIMONIALS PAGE to get you anywhere fast  :D

There must be some element of respectability about Masita though as they are one of the few who are sanctioned by GAA to use the logo on their playing kits.
