Mowing.
Need to mow today. My front garden is almost a triangle sloping away from the house to a point. Do I mow stripes up and down or go around the perimeter in ever decreasing triangles? Have tried a few options, none of which have been ideal.

He went to the Abbey, I competed against him in some schools quizs a few years ago.

Dec, out of interest, back in the dark ages the only schools' quiz was BBC "Top of the Form.'  How are today's quizzes run?  What teams are good?  How did your team fare against the Abbey?  Curious because I used to coach a high school quiz team here in the States.

That's a blast from the past!

My specialised subject would be Enid Blython books on the Five Find Outers and Dog:

- Fatty (smart arsed pompous git)
- Larry (gimp)
- Daisy (future alchoholic)
- Pip (gay as a badger)
- Bets (sex bomb)
- and Fatty's dog, Buster (nasty little beggar)

Their arch enemy was PC Goon, whose criminal apprehension rate left a lot to be desired.

I seen Rachel from Countdown on a celebrity special a year or two ago and she chose Manchester United in the 21st century (I think that's what it was anyway). I got the correct answer to every one of her questions so I'd pick something along those lines.

Top of the form was off the TV by my time. There weren't any televised schools quizzes for teams in my day just Blockbusters for one or two people. Around Newry most of the quizzes were organized by Marty Goss a teacher at the College including a Mastermind type quiz.
Then there was Schools Challenge which was UK wide in the same format as University Challenge. We lost to the Abbey team that Aidan McQuade was on and they went on to win the NI region of Schools Challenge. Next year we won the NI region beating the Abbey in the semi final.

Thanks, Dec.  Do you mind me asking what your school was?

Funny enough, dec, I just checked Wiki and saw that the school whose quiz team I coached in England won Schools Challenge a couple of times.
