Well, time to call it - does anyone see him not getting home?

He has a massive lead and is a superb player, the early scores seem to indicate the course has been set up for someone to post a decent score, that should suit mcilroy as the only player within touching distance isn't reknowned for low scores.  The lads on -2 and -1 probably aren't either.  The truth is, from here he could easily shoot under par again today and that'd be that, but......

Hard to see him lose, but I am still not convinced.  Have backed snedeker w/o rory (and had him and garcia outright beforehand anyway).  I'd be happy enough with a rory win, but i'd like him to come back to the field a wee bit to give us a bit of excitement.
If there was a queue of top players lined up within 6 or 7 shots I'd be concerned but there is one chap 6 shots behind who isn't Woods, Mickelson etc. and the rest 8 or 9 behind. Can't see him give this one away.
I'd agree that it's a bit strung out, if there were a few of them level with Yang it could have been interesting, probably just too much of a gap.

Yang did reel Tiger in in 2009 and also beat him two years beforehand in China, but not from 6 shots back.  A quick google shows he was only 2 back in 2009 and Tiger did hit a 3 over round.

Btw Norf, Rory wasn't being called a bottler on the strength of one bad performance, he has won once in Europe and once in the states from a multitude of winning positions.  His US win was from miles behind, his Euro win was from 6 in front and I think he squeaked home by one!!!

Yang was six behind Tiger after TWO rounds in 09. Six shots over 2 rounds really isn't that much.... If say Yang was in 20th place but still the same six shots behind Rory he'd still think him self well in contention it's the degree of separation between Rory and the rest that make it look an insurmountable lead.

A multitude of winning positions?? One in Europe before his maiden win and this years Masters I'm struggling after that. I'm with Norf on this, bottler my hole! Come on Rory!

He had a last day lead in the tournament immediately after the Masters did he not?
As I dream about movies they won't make of me when I'm dead

And a great chip out sideways and wedge to save par on the 2nd or 3rd there. Those saves will help him alright. If he was tending to choke up, it'd have been easy to bogey both of those. If he makes a birdie in the next few holes he'll be in a great state of mind.

Led at some stage all right but not sure it was last round.. But the point I'd be making is there's a huge difference in losing cause some other guy just played better and throwing a tournament away..

Going well so far, go on you good thing

Lee Westwood having a Rory-like round. -7 in 10 holes, into 2nd place now

Some eagle just there by Westwood to go to -5.

I'd say if there's one person our Rory doesn't want chasing him down tomorrow it's Westwood.

I was at the K Club the day Clarke's 10 shot lead was overturned by Westwood. True, it was mostly Clarke's doing - but as they were playing together, Westwood made sure that every Clarke mistake was punished, which clearly messed with big Darren's head.

He looks like he'll go into tomorrow no worse than 6 ahead barring no disasters. Can't see him dropping that. If Westwood got to partner him tomorrow it would be very interesting!

if Rory doesnt win i would like to see Westwood win it before anyone else, but i hope it doesnt happen.

I know it's a cliche but if ever a thing was someones to lose as opposed to someone else win it this is it.
