Checkpoint Charlie,Olympiastadion famous for 1936 Summer Olympics when Hitler had watch Jesse Owens win all those medals or Zidane's infamous headbutt in 2006. Führerbunker where Hitler was hiding out & Fernsehturm are worth a visit.

I went to a Irish bar when i was there Kilkenny (i think) good food & drink at a decent price.
The key to success is to be consistently competitive -- if you bang on the door often it will open

It's a great city 5S- spent 5 days there at the World Cup. The old East Berlin was the spot for us; more interesting, better bars and better value. As there were 6 of us we chipped in to get a walking guide and it was money well spent ; in 3 hours we stopped for a couple of beers but got a great insight into the history of a unique city. The Time Out guide is also an excellent investment.

See the Brandenburg gate and the Reichstag but avoid the fake Berlin wall segments and the fake pieces of the broken wall set in resin, just concrete with aersol paint.
Think you have to book the Reichstag in advance now, but not sure. Great city. German food is crap though.

Go to the Stasi headquarters museum http://www.stasimuseum.de/en/enindex.htm (just realised they have moved it for renovation - they shouldn't have because it was like a journey back in time).

Lots of lovely Vietnamese, Cuban and Eastern European restaurants.

You should fit in a walking tour or two.  Good Nazi walking tour, takes you around the city and there is a great 'history of Berlin' walking tour.  A must do http://www.insidertour.com/

The Sony centre is a must see too and of course, you have to go and witness Sachsenhausen.

My favourite city in the world, a great place.

Berlin is a good spot lots to do and not especially expensive. Get a transport ticket for the 3 days or whatever, as things are fairly spread out. Checkpoint Charlie is interesting and the museum there stay open in the evening. The bit of preserved wall at Bernauer Straße gives you a feel for things, but requires going there. You won't have time to see half of it.

There are also some good Turkish restaurants, for something different.

Berlin is an amazing city.  Go on the walking tour, gets in all the sites and the history is well explained. They point out many things that you are likely to miss on your own.

The food you can get at street stalls is quality and great value compared to Ireland. Ate as much bratwursts and roast pork rolls i could find while walking about. Didn't do many restaurants I have to say. The beer is alright but your a long way from Bavaria.
It won't be the next manager but the one after that Meath will become competitive again - MO'D 2016

They had 5 in a row. '39 '40 '41' '42 and '43. It all went pear shaped in the following two seasons though.

Berlin booked from 2-5th June, completely ripped off with the flights but that may be due to the fact that the Euros begin soon after in Poland.

I keep hearing about these beer bike tours, are they any good?
