Surely a system could be implemented whereby all unemployed have to carry out community work in order to receive their benefits. If you are not prepared to work then money is denied. These thugs have too much time on their hands.

They're more than 100 years old. That was the acceptable term at the time. Not really acceptable anymore though, presumably because of its Jim Crow/pre-civil rights association.

As for "darkie", whoever thinks its ok to use that should cop the f**k on.

On the subject of race why is that the black community complain about their youth being marginalised and that multiculturalism hasn't worked yet the Asian community seem to have integrated and made better lives for themselves in Britain?

Some people like to go out of their way to be offended.  I don't use the term 'Darkie' to offend anybody from the black/coloured/whatever society (who actually decides what is a legitimate term to describe this section of the community?).  If I caused any offence to our resident crabbit hoors, I apologise. 

In similar terms, if abroad and someone referred to an Irish person as a 'Paddy' would this offend anyone?  It certainly wouldn't offend me.  Judging by some of the reaction on here it seems that there would be a few quite badly offended by this term...or maybe they just like to hear themselves complain and decided to have a moan about a similar term used to describe another group of people...

Murder inquiry after Birmingham pedestrians killed by driver
Three pedestrians were run over in the incident A 32-year-old man will be questioned on suspicion of murder after three men were run over and killed in Birmingham.

A vehicle has been recovered after the incident at about 01:00 BST on Dudley Road, Winson Green.

The men aged 31, 30 and 20 were taken to City Hospital where about 200 people from the Asian community gathered.

It is not yet known if the deaths were linked to overnight rioting in the West Midlands. There were 109 arrests on a second day of disorder in the region.

It is thought the men who died had just come out of a mosque and were protecting their neighbourhood at the time of the incident in Winson Green.

Members of the Asian community have described the incident as a hit-and-run and police in riot gear have been blocking the hospital's main entrance, but the crowd has been dispersing.


About 200 people from Birmingham's Asian community gathered outside City Hospital Correspondent Jeremy Cooke said local people had told the BBC that a car hit a group of young Asian men.

West Midlands Police said: "Three men have died following a road collision in the Winson Green area of Birmingham which detectives are treating as murder.

"Three men were taken to hospital where two later died from their injuries. A third man was in a critical condition but confirmed dead at around 6.30am.

"West Midlands Police have launched a murder enquiry, arrested one man in connection with the incident and recovered a vehicle nearby which will be examined by forensics experts."

Officers have appealed for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

There was looting in Birmingham city centre, Wolverhampton and West Bromwich on Tuesday night.

Police said there were 109 arrests on Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning up to 0210 BST.

Jeremy Cooke said it was a "relatively quiet night" across the West Midlands and "nothing like on the scale" of the night before.

Police have been investigating reports that shots had been fired in the Aston area of Birmingham.

Riot police were on the streets and surrounded The Mailbox shopping complex in the city centre.

We were turfed out of our office at 4pm, city centre was chaotic, everyone was trying to get out at once and the roads were just gridlocked. Thankfully our friendly rioters were probably still sleeping off the vigorous exercise they got the night before. Word is that the cops are to get stuck in from here on. The gloves will be off.
On the the lads that got mowed down last night - this was the biggest fear that the rioting would turn into a racial issue. We dont know for sure that this is related but id strongly suspect that it is. There is a history of major tension here between the Asian and black communities for whatever reason. If thats the way it twists it could really explode. What is possibly helping at the moment is the fact that it is Ramadan so its keeping plenty off the streets. Last night in the Aston / Lozells area the local asian lads supposedly waded into the rioters and they were stuck between the locals and the cops and took a pasting
If this goes on into the weekend the cops wont be able to police football matches and this shower. Nick Clegg showed up in the city centre yesterday, if anyone was going to inflame the bloody thing it was mr U turn
