Weren't you hoping for SF to offer support to a certain candidate Lawnseed?

Partitionist Sarah Carey of the Irish Times on Radio Ulster outlining that the six counties is a different jurisdiction and despite the Irish citizenship inferred upon Irish people in the six counties in the Good Friday Agreement, she would not support those people being allowed to vote in the Presidential elections.

Well she is wrong. The Presidency is a figurehead position therefore should represent all the citizens (and those with a right to citizenship). In Ireland's case that is unforunately only praciticle for people living on the island. It is different to TD's, government or Taoiseach as those are positions linked to taxation and representation. Yes I do know who Sarah Carey is by the way.

So now we know what Denis O'Brien thinks on the matter

Did Pearse not win her around to changing that view towards the end there?

He made his point anyway and she responded saying she felt that the Good Friday Agreement argument could possibly be an argument for extending voting rights to the six counties but that she would still be opposed to it. She also said that she actually never really thought much about the rights of the Irish citizens in the north. Shocking revelation.
