Found it a bit distasteful for rte to allow Gallagher's defence to take precedence on the news over the death of two people in the floods.

Same organisation went to town on a certain priest in Ahascragh, Co. Galway  and will be  hung to the rafters in the courts so it's no surprise that they have poor judgement!!!

Hugh Morgan is making himself unavailable to the media. Surely this is the final detail we need to confirm that the whole thing has been a well orchestrated ambush by Sinn Fein. Why is he afraid to comment? He has left no stone unturned in pointing out every little detail in his statement so it's only fair that while Mr. Gallagher is scrutinised, that Morgan is too. Unless of course Morgan is afraid his statement is ripped to shreds which one would assume to be the case.

Why should he make himself available? He's not running for President and probably doesn't even have a vote.

Why should he make himself available?

Are you for real? He is making a claim that is threatening to sabotage a presidental candidate's campaign.

It's only right that his statement is scrutinised and scrutinised again, and tested for inaccuracies and falsities.

It is cowardly to choose to reveal this incident days before we hit the polls, and then refuse to answer questions on it.

hugh morgan is not standing for public office with 7.5million of taxpayers money hanging in the balance. sean gallagher has tried to pull the woll over the electorates eyes. ff have already said they got morgans money and gallagher has said he contacted morgan in relation to making a donation. morgan has a record in relation to tax evasion and gallagher tried to pull the same move and failed. the question remains who else did gallagher contact and are they willing to come forward and or did they also give him 5000euro for ff at a time he insists that he had nothing to do with the party

I'd rather have a man with a dodgy £5k in his background than a man involved in the murder and maiming of men, women and children.

Right I am not aware that the issues you raise are a problem for many people. Maybe it's only yourself who has a problem with them. In case you didn't realise, this sort of thing happens in all political parties: There is nothing wrong with what Gallagher did.

The problem is that Morgan's statement is suggesting that Gallagher is a liar. In my opinion, it is entirely concievable that it is in fact Morgan who is telling the untruths. As I say, a cowardly act making that statement and then hiding away behind it while Gallagher is forced to deal with the consequences of his false allegations.

Who is winning the Race for the ARAS then? What do the polls say?

But Gallagher is a liar - that much has been proven numerous times throughout the day.

This is only one example: http://www.politics.ie/forum/irish-presidential-election-2011/174235-comparing-what-gallagher-told-dobbo-tonight-rachael-english-5-days-ago.html
