Well as I said, stupid and all as O'Snodaigh was, he did not do what he did for his own financial benefit, as even a FG TD basically accepted yesterday. Quinn appears to have grossly overstated his mileage expenses in an attempt to scam taxpayers money for his own financial benefit, and he is a government minister. Hardly like-for-like is it.

Furthermore, I keep mentioning Quinn for the simple reason that it shows how little people really care. Happy to have a pop at O'S cos he's a shinner, but wholly disinterested at the apparent lying for financial benefit by a government minister.

So misuse of taxpayers money for print cartridges is different from misuse of taxpayers money on mileage. Splitting hairs to suit yourself there Nally. It's pretty much like for like.

And you dodged the question. Do you think O'Snodaigh should be disciplined for wasting 50,000 euro?

But if the mileage actually consisted of phantom 'miles', and the weekly 4-page colour (informational) SF brochures were actual (however wrong-headed you or anyone else may feel that to be), there's more than a hair's breadth between them: one's embezzlement and the other is profligacy (fatuous or otherwise, but still profligacy).

On mileage? No that would imply that the miles were being covered. The whole point is that the money claimed for thousands of kilometers more than was actually traveled was going INTO THE MINISTER'S PERSONAL BANK ACCOUNT. It's not that complicated. One person used a lot of ink, while one lied for his own financial benefit.

As for "dodging a question", you didn't ask me if he should be disciplined. You asked a rhetorical question of "why don't SF discipline him". I can't dodge a question I wasn't asked. Should he be disciplined? Of course, but as I say, his foolishness is not on a par with the deviousness of the minister who seemingly lied for financial benefit courtesy of the taxpayer.

Nally, your criticism of O'Snodaigh counts for nothing, because you try to diminish his actions with your usual whataboutrory.

My criticism counts for nothing in your opinion. I suspect that's really because there's an uncomfortable truth in what I have been saying....that people like you just enjoy having a pop at a shinner, but don't really give a shite that a state minister has been up to a lot worse than AO'S and you don't wan't that pointed out. If you think I should be angry at O'S, then surely you should be furious at Quinn. Whataboutery? Nope, just shining some light on your faux-outrage.

Nally, perhaps this should be your wake up call as to how despised SF are in the Republic.

No, I look at the mass indifference to a government minister pocketing tax payers money as a testament to how the 26 counties got itself into it's current mire.

Nothing to do with the fact that the majority of people from the Republic have an attitude to SF that varies between hate and disgust. Lucky for you many are just indifferrent to you.

O snodaigh and quinn should both be fired from their parties otherwise we might as well say that labour and sf have no more principles than the gangsters in ff and their first cousins in fg. Both politicians should man up and quit too and anyone who defends either action should take a long look at themselves.

Seems most just don't give two shits about getting robbed by a state minister. Shameful indifference given our recent history.

That comes from a man who likes to judge FG on things that happened with ancestor organisations in the 1930's. Perhaps I might hark on about SF/provoira until at least the 2090's (I doubht I will see that grand age), thats if your record sets the precedent.

Whataboutery, it certainly is. You can't help it.

'Faux-outrage'? Stop spinning or should that be Shinning. I am not outraged or pretending to be outraged. I am merely pointing out the latest gaffe from one of the Dáil's many idiots. His deed exceeds that of Jackie Healy-Rae, some going.

If there were Labour fundamentalists on here promoting them are the new Angles of Charity of the Dáil, they would be getting it in the neck regarding Quinn, and the rest. But there aren't.

Quinn needs to explain himself or resign. O'Snodaigh isn't fit to be a TD in any party.
