The only dodgy one might have been Donegal.

Any bookies pricing this up??
I would be assumming that Tyrone would be favourites.
Wanted.  Forwards to take frees.
Not fussy.  Any sort of ability will be considered

Cant get anything on Paddy Powers yet, only Leinster as they have played the 1st round. You will get odds on the 1st round matches Id imagine and then they will probably do up an outright market after the 1st games.
Tyrone won the Minor AI 3 years ago so would imagine they would be favourites. Ulster looks very competitive.

DownFanatic

On paper Down have a very good squad of players this year. Tyrone mightnt get it all their own way.

put-it-up-again

Paddy Power had odds up for the AI u21 championship. I cant remember the exact odds now but I know they did have the Ulster teams in this order anyway -

Tyrone
Armagh
Donegal
Down
Cavan
Monaghan
Derry
Fermanagh
Antrim

Tyrone have been beaten by Fermanagh and Down in the Cremartin cup. Albeit with some key players missing. Coney will still be out Matt Donnelly should be back. Bout time the minor success we've had translated through to u21.

Very disapointing these last few years given the talent available.

PAULD123

Tyrone put in place a fantastic system of bringing the young lads through the ranks to eventually feed the senior team. But for the last couple of years it seemed to break down at U21 level. I gather the management have now been changed. I'm sure it won't be long before they are back converting Minor success to U21 then senior. Down are now looking at the same strategy with the great Pete McGrath over our development and minor team. So hopefully we wil challenge Tyrone for years to come.

As for this year Tyrone deserve to be favourites but Down are represented by the minor AI semi-finalists of 2009 (which we should have won by a bagful) plus at least 4 players with senior county experience. We should be good in the forward line at least.

In fairness Armagh will be pushing forward their 2009 AI minor champions.

It could be an interesting competition

Does the Tyrone team contain many of the 2010 All Ireland Minor Winners?

Who are downs 4 that have played senior county football, I can only think of Paul mcpolin and he only played a couple of games at the start of this year

Well from the panel I saw on Hoganstand (but it may be wrong):

Philip Bonny - McKenna cup game
Conor Poland - McKenna cup game
Paul McPolin - McKenna cup & 1 league game
Paul Devlin - McKenna cup game

Also Anton McCardle and Darren O'Hagan are part of the senior squad aren't they?

Now forgive my ignorance I may have got two things wrong:

  • Firstly I may have got two players with the same name mixed up.
  • Secondly I may not be looking at the official panel.
I would appreciate any re-direction if what I have said above is incorrect. I'd rather be put right than continue to be wrong.

fitzroyalty

What are Derry like? Armagh look strong with a number of the AI minor winners but there were some suprising omissions in the panel.

supersub

who was left out of the panel that was surprising fitz?
