I hope kerry will respect the traditional guard of honour, show some class for a change.
What's not classy about being the team that has been given guards of honour more than any other team?

Langers dont deserve a gaurd of honour..Also, make sure you behave, none of the thieving, pissing in the street and general corkmen-can't-hold-their-drink type behavior that you lightweights usually get up to.

Theres your class alright.

Declan

Tight enough game and 2 red cards.

Jinxy

Pearse O'Neill can fist the ball further than he can kick it.
If you were any use you'd be playing.

Haha!!

what did O'leary and BJ keane do slap each other off the ball?

very fussy ref
will to win is important the will to prepare to win is vital

haze

What an exhibition of place ball kicking from Goulding

Corks reputation of bottling it must be well and truly buried after yet another tight win, the players must have confidence now that if they are close with 10 mins to go that they always have a chance.

Gutting loss really especially themanner of the defeat.
Two very even team with Cork accuracy from dead balls the telling difference.
Another factor was the physicality of the Cork team - they are just so big!!!!.....
We need a free taker; Moran is not the answer - still nothing major lost today but another loss means we are facing a relegation battel.
Mayo away followed by Dublin away next up for us - we need to take something from them games.
As for the sending off I was in the stand today and the general consensus was that Noel O'Leary punched Barry John after/before (depending on who you listen to) Barry Jon head butted O'Leary -> both deserved to go if true (btw I saw the O'Leary punch but not the headbutt!!!!)
Ref was very, very very fussy - games should be left flow where possible however ref now want to blow up for everything.

AN other

Some eegit on Newstalk News announced that both teams finished with 10 men, I couldn't wait to get home to see what the story was! Somebody was obviously watching Liverpool Chelsea this afternoon...

I dunno....biggest county apart from Dublin and its taken ye 126 years to win seven AI football titles (and hardly anyone plays hurling so they don't really count). You are naive to think a meaningless league game will change ye're reputation for bottling.

In fairness, we might have been that naive as well back in 1926 but its so long ago no-one can remember

How did ye manage to get Sam Maguire in 1926 Mikey boy?

Sure twas the great Squires Gannon that was first presented with the Corn in 1928.  ;)
There's Seán Brady going in, what dya think Seán?

Plus, too many cars for Kerry in 1926. They were still bating donkeys around with sticks until the mid 90s :D

Declan

Kentucky/Kerry so many comparisons ;) ;)

Good game for 1st round of the league. No one wanted to lose it that's for sure. See the smile on Tomas O'Ses face as he dumped a Cork midfielder to the floor near the end.

You know Cork and Kerry will probably play each other in Corke Park this summer and every tight game Cork win like today will stand to them.

Guyney looks a good prospect for Kerry ( Keane also before he got sent off) but with Cooper, Galvin and Declan O'Sullivan to come into the team it is not in the forwards theri problems are.

Well, obviously, it is a ghostly apparition of future victories  :)
