I recently got myself a Western Digital External Hard Disk to back up all my stuff on the computer. Got it hooked up this evening, after much procrastination. I've tried to run 'Time Machine' on the iMac, but getting an error code -43. What's that and how can I fix it?

Start a thread on Mac Rumours or Mac Forums And you should get sorted Ziggy.

Anyone know a good place to get one cheapish? Was keeping an eye out in the sales but there wasn't much of a reduction in the iMac anywhere....

Apple dont have "sales" in January, they will discount older models when they are introducing upgrades.

Try here. I got a refurb Mac Book Pro before Xmas and as far as I can see it was brand new and you get a 12 month warranty.

I've used the refurb store before and had problems, sometimes it can be luck of the draw. Currys had 500 quid off the 13.3 inch MacBook Air during the week but supplies were very limited

You're a saint and a scholar David. Working now, thank you.

Time machine just needs a bit of direction to find/select your back up drive of choice, first time of asking.
