Very sad news this morning, this man brought alot of laughter to my life anyway. Any time I was feeling low all i had to do was put on one of his films and I would be smiling by the end of it. May he rest in peace.

Banana Man

He was top class, Airplane and the naked gun franchise were brilliant. What age was he?

I agree 100%, some of the funniest movie one-liners ever came from Leslie Nielsen. He was on the late late a few years ago and didn't look 80. At least he left a legacy of comedy behind. RIP.

thejuice

thats a shame. Hadn't heard from him in years. Those movies were class.
...........and don't call me Shirley.

"A hospital? What is it?"

"It's a big building with patients, but that's not important right now."  ;D

Thats a pity.

I've often wondered was he a real funny guy or had he good script writers?

"It's the same old story. Boy finds girl, boy loses girl, girl finds boy, boy forgets girl, boy remembers girl, girls dies in a tragic blimp accident over the Orange Bowl on New Year's Day."

R.I.P. Frank Drebin.

Hardy

His lines were written by the screenwriter. He was an actor.

RIP.

Great scripts but Nielsen's deadpan delivery was top-notch too. I particularly liked this one.

Lt. Frank Drebin: Hector Savage. From Detroit. Ex-boxer. His real name was Joey Chicago.
Ed Hocken: Oh, yeah. He fought under the name of Kid Minneapolis.
Nordberg: I saw Kid Minneapolis fight once. In Cincinnati.
Lt. Frank Drebin: No you're thinking of Kid New York. He fought out of Philly.
Ed Hocken: He was killed in the ring in Houston. By Tex Colorado. You know, the Arizona Assassin.
Nordberg: Yeah, from Dakota. I don't remember it was North or South.
Lt. Frank Drebin: North. South Dakota was his brother. From West Virginia.
Ed Hocken: You sure know your boxing.
Lt. Frank Drebin: All I know is never bet on the white guy.
Mayo for Sam! Just don't ask me for a year

Mayor: Now Drebin, I don't want any trouble like you had on the South Side last year, that's my policy.
Frank: Well, when I see five weirdos, dressed in togas, stabbing a man in the middle of the park in full view of a hundred people, I shoot the bastards, that's *my* policy!
Mayor: That was a Shakespeare-In-The-Park production of 'Julius Caesar,' you moron! You killed five actors! Good ones!
"When it's too tough for them, it's just right for us"
