St Brigid's 'second' team are playing against Strokestown in the Intermediate Final in Roscommon tomorrow. It means, win or lose, Strokestown are assured of promotion.

Apparently, once that game is over, the manager of St.Brigid's 'first' team is then free to draft any of Brigid's Intermediate team onto the Senior Panel for the Eastern Harps match if he wants to. It will be interesting to see if he will do so.

The winner of Brigid's/Eastern Harps will then play Glencar- Manorhamilton in the Semi Final, with the Galway and Mayo champs meeting in the other Semi.

Would that be because Strokestown will go through to Connacht as a second team cannot represent their county in the Provincial competition??

But surely he could have done so before now? In Mayo first teams can call up B players at any stage, just once they play championship at a higher level, they are ineligible at the lower grade.

Re Alan Costello confusion, there is also an Alan Costello from Carramore (older brother of Dermot, Kevin and Ian) who played minor and U-21 with Mayo. In fact the four brothers played minor for Mayo. Could be some kind of record. Alan Costello Carramore is about 31, Alan Costello Balla is 26 or so. Not sure what age the Alan Costello that plays with Sligo is.
Mayo for Sam! Just don't ask me for a year

SLIGONIAN

Thanks Mayo :D Such is the genuis of Sligo people we saw the extraodinary in Alan Costello and we facilitated bringing it out of him but it would not of been possible without the ignorance and agorance in mayo to throw him aside.

If Parsons had chosen his own county he might not be accelarating backwards as he currently is with mayo 8).

Where are all the posters (jokers) who said he chose mayo because he wil develop into better player :D

If any mayo players wish to enhance there potential give Kevin Walsh a call ;)

Its no joke to be fair. Kevin Walsh was in attendance at the Mayo Junior semi final between Louisburg and Islandeady. Considering that Junior players in Mayo are ignored for the senior team it could be a chance to develop themselves at a county like Sligo before maybe getting the chance to have a trial at Mayo.

Do you boys ever talk about anything other than poaching players and town from each other?  Very difficult trying to wade through a thread for some actual information.  Jaysus, ye even turned the international rules thread into another rossies in town stealing scandal!!
