The Secretary of State has said that he has asked Sinn Fein for an alternative text to the oath of allegiance to allow their MPs to sit in Westminster

Any ideas?

Guy Fawkes had the right idea?

Just a thought

I sit here for Fawkes sake,
To join the others on the make,
I'll take the schilling from the Queen,
But try not to look too keen.
Amen.

It has to be asked whether this would help them gain (even more) votes from the SDLP or would Sinn Fein lose (even more) grass root supporters - at a time when they can ill afford to do so with increasing dissident support.

I can't imagine that Sinn Fein will gain any further votes from the SDLP, until Margaret Richie continues carry on the way she did over the F/ST election. However, I can see them losing a fair amount of vote over it and increase the dissident support.

Ziggy do you ever actually read what you type before you post? Most of what you write is gobbledygook.

Ask it on another thread. Muppet could have a winner there.

We are elected to westminster
For the law to adminster
our motives are so sinister
if we get the Queen we'll finish her.

Our voters were sure
When we knocked on their dour
Our seats here to take
But of that woman not to spake
So here we now stand
With no rifle in hand
Our votes for to cast
