The most over-hyped commercially sponsored money-fest in GAA history.

These guys are laughing all the way to the bank and the poor oul Ulster tourists who have nothing better to do in Dublin of a Saturday fall for it every year hook line and stinker!

So of course we will win it ....

Leo thats an awful statement...the sevens is a wonderful competition full of tradition and friendship. Don't knock it till you try it
We're the devils men...

I was there once before absolutely great day out - hopefully will get to it this year as I think I've a ticket for Sunday and wouldn't mind making a weekend of it

Been there as a visitor (only 10 mins walk from house) for most of the past 10 years and I can confirm it's a good day out.

Been at more football than hurling but that would be in my nature.

To paraphrase Christy Moore - you'd never know who'd you'd see hanging about.

Same as that SS (apart from the ten minute walk bit obviously) especially the Christy Moore bit. Also the football from the 1/4s up is usually top notch. My only criticism would be the recent innovation of the beer tent in the actual grounds. The walk back and forward to the clubhouse was a great way of pacing yourself.

Fixed that.

St. Gall's extremely confident of winning this again. Get out of Group 4 and there's nothing between them and the final. Apparently.

Is there any bookies taking bets for the sevens?
Normally is if I recall, anyone know when the odds will be out?

rossglass

Are there normally tickets floating about for the AI Final at the Sevens and if so do they normally go for around face value?

rrhf

Are the Moy not big contenders for this?

The odds were up on Paddy Power late on the Friday I think last year, then Boyles put up their tweaked odds on Saturday morning. Didn't really give much time to the punters.

If I recall St Galls were 7/2 favourites last year, Moy were about 10/1 I think? Clonduff were a big price and I think the team backed themselves and paid for their weekend away!

SambaSaffron

Wonder why the Moy aren't in it this year.

lolafrola

There doesn't seem to be as many Ulster teams this year for some reason, maybe the Mexicans want to win it for a change :P
Be nice to the people you meet on the way up, because you may meet them on the way back down.
