May the f**ker be shot by a ball of his own dung.

Wouldn't surprise me if he was attacked - he'd be the perfect target for dissidents trying to drum up support. While that obviously wouldn't be ideal for the general situation, I think it'd be ideal for dealing with him.

This man's crime was never a 'political' action and should never have come in under the GFA. He enjoyed killing innocent people in a pub just because he thought they all were 'Papists'

He should have done life+1,000 years. I am sure the cnut will rot when he dies.

Some cases really anger me regarding the release of prisoners through the GFA, with the linked example being one of them.  How did this fella (who is constantly causing serious trouble to this day) ever qualify under the GFA (the fella killed was off the same religion as the culprits), and how did some of his co-accused get convicted of Manslaughter for this crime?

I don't give a fu*k what anyone says that John Dallat of the SDLP has some set of swingers on him, did anyone read the sunday world yesterday, dallat had built up a dossier over 18 years and went with the 2 blades that he beat up to the police

I have nothing but the utmost respect for Dallat after all that

Hopefully not.

NAG1

Suprised Dallat a decent upstanding character getting involved with that gutter press.

I hope the story was just being done on him by the paper with no contribution from him.

Banana Man

To be honest I can't remember if he contributed to it or not but I remember a while back in the Irish News Dallat being interviewed regarding Knight and the 2 girls who got the hiding from him

Sunday world or no sunday world the point is the man has a serious set of balls and fair play to him

Doogie Browser

What the fcuk does it matter what paper Dallat goes to?  If it is keeping this story in the public eye then so be it!  He is the only politician showing any leadership on this.
I have said it before, there is no harder working Politician in the 6 counties when it comes to matters like this.

ziggysego

Whilst I've no time for the SDLP because they've no backbone on many matters, I've a lot of respect for Dallat. Always willing to put himself on the line for the good of others.

Like Doogie says, what the hell matters what paper he goes to.

Banana Man

As Doogie and Ziggy say what paper it's in doesn't make one bit of difference, it's the fact he is keeping it in the public eye and showing great leadership IMO. I don't see anyone else willing to tackle the elephant in the room. Can you's not just say fair play when it's due instead of having a pop at a paper.

It must be the lack of air from that moral highground it being so far up ffs

Dallat's tenacity is in stark contrast to the Shinners who have yet to make any comment regarding Knight (or Torrens as the dowie used to call him).

This despite the fact that several known Republicans were targetted in the same constituency at a time when Knight was out and about.

You have to ask "Why the silence?"

Although, Daithi McKay did write a letter to the IN.

Congratulations, once again you've managed to contribute nothing to a discussion. Would you care to explain the comment? I think the Sunday World is a rag of the highest order that regularly publishes sensationalist bullshit. I also think there are rag broadsheets, such as the Irish Independent. The papers I read are the Irish Times and the Sunday Tribune, and have commented on this board about what I perceive as poor journalism in those papers when I see it.

Now, perhaps you'd like to consult your dictionary again and explain how on earth any of that makes me a snob.

Whatever about GFA and early release etc. if you take the latest offence of battering 2 women in a bar on its own merits, then under a proper system he should be doing a decent amount of time for that alone.
