Jeez Rodney I dunno about that. Few decent performers so far. No one much better than the rest.

Benzema, Sanchez, Robben, Gyan, Dempsey to name but a few!

rodney trotter

All good performers, he was the most entertaining to watch Imo, Sanchez wasn't far off. Made the difference against a stubborn Greek side in the first game and was very good against Ivory Coast.

Benzema has been good, but Honduras were brutal and the Swis defence and goalie were a disaster against France.

Cameroon have been poor so far, and I'm disappointed in them because I saw their friendly v Germany, and they were very open and attacking. Whether it's the pay dispute I don't know, but they have just been very negative and limited in this tournament.

Ivory Coast have been reasonable, wouldn't call them overly negative either. A but unlucky versus Colombia, but you'd imagine they are in good shape for 2nd place, only need a draw v a limited Greece team.

Nigeria have been boring enough, but again are probably in a good position to go through, unless Bosnia have lost interest and Iran can take them.

I thought Ghana have been good, but I do think Germany and USA will end up a draw.

Algeria were ultra negative against Belgium, but they were a revelation against South Korea. If they keep playing like that I'd love to see them going through, and they should be able to get a result off Russia if they do play that well.

Now there is a boring team!!

That was never a square ball!!

I know the rankings dont mean much but the Swiss are ranked 6th. Colombia have had a fairly handy group I think.

The next few weeks will tell the tale. Convinced the Germans were taking it relatively easy against Ghana (bar last 20mins)and will do so again in the USA game. They have peaked too early in the past and wont want to do so again!

Billys Boots

Yikes, the average person in Switzerland earns over $80,000 per annum.

I presume it is taken on nominal GDP per Capita rather than allowing for purchasing power where it would be closer to $50,000 - but even still......

It was a surpise to most that the Swiss were a top 8 seed before the tournament. They were ahead of Holland..

Yeah, they have zero points, while Mexico have 4 and Brazil have 4 so they're out. The real game today is Mexico v Croatia. Basically knock out as Croatia have 3 points.
Disappointing that RTE aren't showing Croatia v Mexico. It's on the player but I'd rather see it on the TV

Cameroon are back level now 1-1. This game should be a cracker.
