A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE MEATH V LOUTH SAGA

A possible solution to the above problem could be as follows.
[1] Let the four remaining matches in the back door system be played as planned.
[2]Allow the winners of the above matches be drawn against the beaten provincal finalists as already agreed.
[3] If Louth are unbeaten,let it be agreed they play Meath.
This way a compromise will have been reached by all. As it stands nothing will happen unless Meath agree to a replay.The rules as they stand do not allow for a replay even though the fixture commitee have left Croke Park vacant for sunday, I wonder why ???

If it was a qualifier match or an AI QF there wouldn't be such a fuss made of things. But because it is for a Leinster title (Trophy, medals) and all that it entails ... history books etc. it complicates matters. A compromise doesn't work. Someone has to win and another lose.
