RTÉ is making a television programme about unemployment and would like to hear from men aged 18-25 who are currently unemployed and thinking about leaving Ireland in search of a job. In particular we're hoping to speak with men who perhaps worked in the construction industry, have recently left school or worked in a company that has recently closed down. If you or someone you know is in this situation please get in touch with us before Friday 23rd July 2010. Our email address is docresearch@rte.ie or telephone 01-2083151 and leave your name and a contact number. We look forward to hearing from you but please be aware that any contact we have at this point will be purely for research purposes and isn't a guarantee that you will be included in the final programme

This upper limit of 25, is that negotiable I wonder?  Seems a bit discriminatory to me, maybe Prime Time should investigate.

Is this an original conceived RTE program or is it another robbed from elsewhere? Let me suggest you get Breffni whats his name in there or maybe a spin off called "celebrity unemployed at 25" with another 10 "celebrities" that would be fascinating!

Hi Bogball XV,

Re: upper limit of 25yrs being negotiable, I'm afraid that for this particular documentary we're just going to focus on men aged 18-25 as they seem to be the age group worst hit by unemployment in some areas of Ireland. However if you're over that age and are unemployed then please either send me a message or send an email to docresearch@rte.ie

This documentary isn't investigative/current affairs but will deal with the issue of unemployment and emigration from the personal point of view of the men in this situation. So if you know any men in your area that are 18-25 and are unemployed then I'd appreciate you passing on their details or speak to them first and see if they'd be willing to chat to me as part of my  research.

Thanks!
