anyone know if there is a deadline for transfers within a county?

Yes.  However i'm sure it varies hugely from county to county.  In Antrim the deadline is end of Feb each year.  If you are transferring to a club in another county, then it can be done any time of year.

There is no definite date in the Offical guide but each county would have a bye-law, in Armagh it is 1st May. An inter county transfer can be given anytime.As can a permanent change of address,to say another parish,within the same county.
