Apols if this was answered before, but why all the strange dates for the minors? Whats wrong with preceeding the seniors?
Free staters are doing their 11+.

Too right mate, it's called the leaving cert down here in the Republic and it clearly includes a module as to how to use your own (as opposed to HMG sponsored) laptop after you've engaged your brain cells.

Nice win for the Breffni blues

Aye, that's it. Free staters are doing their leaving cert. Nordies don't do exams so the staters choose when to play their matches.

Aw come on Now HS get yourself out there for a few minutes and try some face time with the rest of the human race, 6 million posts and counting.

Out where? Its after midnight in Beal Feirste and the only places open are the parks where spades and millies are drinking vodka from lemonade bottles.

Is Cavan still buzzing?

This really does seem to be a good Armagh hurling team, are they from the usual clubs that hurling is stronger in, in Armagh or is it a sign that hurling is developing?

There has been a concerted effort to improve the standard of Hurling in the county and what you are seeing now is the result of that work.
Armagh, the one true love of a mans life.

According to Hogan Stand Tyrone Minors are:

M Reynolds;
S McGarrity,
C Clarke,
HP McGeary;
N Sludden,
M Donaghy,
E Deeney;
H Og Conlon,
P McNulty;
R Donnelly,
T Canavan,
R Devlin;
S Tierney,
J McCullagh,
R O'Neill.

There are some weird selections in that team. At least Liam Gervan is fit enough to be on the bench to hopefully pull us out.

Can anyone confirm if the Armagh v Cavan Ulster minor semi has been changed to July 4th?

Interestingly the last team to beat Armagh minors in championship football was Cavan 2 years ago

Armagh minors are blown away by front two - Cavan 0-14 Armagh 1-4 - Monday, 16 June 2008

Cavan made their point in emphatic fashion as they leapt into this year's Ulster MFC semi-final at the expense of a fitful Armagh crew at Kingspan Breffni Park.

The visitors got a huge leg-up in the third minute when persistence and precision by Robbie Tasker saw him rifle the ball into the Cavan net but that was as good as it got for them.

Armagh proceeded to flatter to deceive and it needed two point blank saves from keeper Ciaran Toman in the ninth and 20th minutes to prevent Cavan taking the lead.

Cavan continued to force the pace and half-back Colm Smith powered forward to cut Armagh's lead to the minimum (0-4 to 1-2) by the 26th minute.

Three minutes later the visitors extended their lead to two points courtesy of a Rory Grugan free but it wasn't until the 55th that the Orchard's labours bore fruit again.

The hosts attacked Armagh's 1-3 to 0-5 lead with vim and vigour and, despite two more last-gasp saves from Tasker, edged in front in the 34th minute when Niall Murray pointed.

Armagh were largely impotent up front and only for Toman, their agony would have been pronounced much earlier.

As it was, Cavan full-forward Kevin Tierney and colleague Niall McDermott dovetailed superbly to open up the Armagh rearguard.

Armagh managed just a single point in the second half and their woes were completed two minutes from time when midfielder Stephen Sheridan got his marching orders.

Cavan: Alan O'Mara; Damien Barkey, Mark Leddy, Dara Tighe; Kevin Meehan, Fergal Flanagan, Colm Smith (0-1); Gearoid McKiernan (0-2), Oisin Minagh (0-1); Niall Murray (0-5, three frees), Niall McDermott (0-3, one free), Niall Smith; Barry Reilly, Kevin Tierney (0-1), Robert Maloney Derham.Subs; Conor McClarey (0-1) for Robert Maloney Derham; Mark Kelly for Barry Reilly; Sean Cooney for Kevin Tierney.

Armagh: Ciaran Toman; Ciaran McKendry, David Markey, Barry McKenna; Declan McKenna, Anto Duffy, John Grimley; James Donnelly, Stephen Sheridan; Rory Grugan (0-3, two frees), Tony Donnelly (0-1), Eugene McVerry; Gavin McParland, Oisin McKeever, Robbie Tasker (0-1).Subs; David Lavery for Ciaran McKendry; John McCarron for Oisin McKeever; Karl McVerry for Barry McKenna; Stefan Campbell for Eugene McVerry.

Yes it has.  I think it's down to the fact that the Minor Hurlers are in the Ulster Final next weekend.

Don't suppose there would be any radio coverage of the minor game today?
