Beardsley and stone

According the BBC report, they want somebody with greater managerial experience to bring them further ???

Maybe they are going to see Andy Carroll?

probably shearer again sure he has greant managerial experience in bringing them down. An absolutely crazy decesion i was listening to the match on newstalk yesterday and i'm nearly sure that i heard one of the commentators say that hughton was 100.1 to be the next manager to be sacked . hope they get relegated its the least they deserve
i heard that, he said the odds must be about 100/1 that Hughton is sacked before christmas - in actual fact, he was probably fav to be next manager sacked.

From a cursory glance at some of the Newcastle forums it would seem that the ordinary supporters are pretty pissed at the decision. Mike Ashley taking a hammering.

Im a newcastle fan, pretty pissed at this, don't understand the calls for us to get relegated though just because we have a bellend as an owner, ordinary decent fans will not be happy with this decision.
Would love to see o'neill come, but i agree with the sentiments of others...why the hell would he  ???

Scandalous carry on. What a backsturd that fat tool Mike Ashley is. Sorry delboy but I also hope the barcodes get relegated on the back of this. Outrageous.

Alan 'sacked from my last three jobs' Pardew. How's that for experience?

Alan Pardew set to be new Newcastle manager

Alan Pardew is set to be named as the new Newcastle manager within the next 24 hours, BBC Sport understands.

The former Reading, West Ham, Charlton and Southampton boss was among the favourites to take over from Chris Hughton, who was sacked on Monday.

Hughton led Newcastle into the top flight last season but following his dismissal the club said it wanted someone "with more experience".

Pardew, 49, has been out of work since being sacked by Southampton in August.

BBC Sport understands that Pardew was in talks with Newcastle about taking over at St James' Park as long as 10 days ago.

It is believed Pardew became close friends with Newcastle owner Mike Ashley and director Derek Llambias when all three were familiar faces at an exclusive London casino where Llambias was managing director.

Reserve team boss and ex-Magpies striker Peter Beardsley was initially put in charge of first team affairs

What has Pardew done?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_Pardew

So in 4 managerial jobs he's been effectively sacked from 3 and his successful tenure was years ago with Reading and that wans't in the premier league!!

Ashely is a clown. Hughton should never have been sacked and he's been replaced by worse. Baffling.

Shamrock Shore

In the mad mad mad world of Newcastle things just got a little madder.

Robby Savage was class on 5 Live last night when he was asked if Newcastle was a big club :P

"Newcastle aren't a big club, wow they get big attendances, but that is only because the people of Newcastle have nothing else to do."

What in the name of God would Robbie Savage know about a big club? This no talent clown spent most of his time playing for rubbish like Leicester and Derby. Robbie Savage should concentrate on what he's good at fake tans and bleaching his hair despite the fact that he must be 35 by now. Newcastle is a far bigger club than any of the rubbish he ever played for

We'll all be back here in 12 months talking about the next Newcastle manager.

Still no trophy for decades, when u see Ipswich/West Ham/Birmingham in Carling Cup semis then that is the type of competition Newcastle should be aiming for. I don't know who beat them in it this year but what's the betting they played a weakened team.

ONeill

I think it was correct to get rid of him. Newcastle have been yoyoing for years. Hughton wasn't going to take them into the top 6. It's a ruthless decision but if they have designs on the bigger prizes he wasn't the man. However, neither is Pardew. Marty O'Neill would've settled them as a top half side at least.

Who have both won top flight domestic trophies since the last time Newcastle have. Savage can be a bit of a clown at times but I agree with him on this.

There's the Newcastle paradox in bold. Who is the man, noone knows.

Main Street

If (in a delusional world) getting into the top 6 was a reason to replace Hughton, Newcastle have neither the money to sign the players needed for a top 6 six squad, nor would a proven or able manager take the job.

It all goes to show, as it stands now, the decision to replace Hughton was ill advised and in all likelihood will prove to be one of the dumbest decisions of the decade in the epl.
