It's incredible that a major club has dropped such a PR howler like this. It really really does not look good and the blowback will go on and on, rightfully so.

Quote from: Dag Dog on July 04, 2025, 02:57:12 PMPartey charged with rape. It was widely known what he had done, but Arsenal were happy to play him.
There was no push back from the media either.
As soon as his contract ends, the police then move in to charge him  :o

Yeh it's been known about for 3 years everyone knew it was Partey on social media and the woman involved posted all the details and communications between the two of them on Twitter.

Legally the club probably would have been sued by Partey if they had of dropped him without him being charged but morally he shouldn't have been out of the team long ago.

Seems the club knew it was coming though as contract renewal was coming along fine then went to 0 very quick

Think the charges happened after the contract renewal broke down cause fear of him going to a country he couldn't be extradited from. Arsenal couldn't terminate his contract because of consequences for City with Mendy but he should have being removed from team.

Quote from: tiempo on July 04, 2025, 03:18:54 PMWas well known, there has been ample opportunity to do the right thing, for some reason charge has been delayed, Arsenal and other relevant authorities should expect a huge backlash on this one

If he was available for the first leg against PSG Arsenal would have won the CL, that and the league was prioritised the last couple of years, disgraceful really

Delusional.

If he was a Man Utd player there would have been huge public outcry, protests at matches, threats of sponsor boycotts.
Amazing how Arsenal were able to play him as if nothing had happened.

Not sure if you're fishing for ragebait or what but Giggs, Ronaldo etc are widely welcome back by United fans so I'd pipe down.

Arsenal board/Arteta do need to make a statement imo it was widely known he was being investigated - Major problem in football how clubs deal with this Acensio (Real Madrid CB) is currently under investigation for distribution of Child Porn, clubs need to take players out of teams while under investigation and some legal framework needs put into FA/Contracts that there will be no legal repercussions for clubs if they do this. Players will obviously be reimbursed if found innocent/not charged.

But another mark against Arsenal unfortunately, treatment of Ozil after his criticism of Chinas treament of Muslims, Elneny Lavazza episode and our kit man of 20 years being sacked for a pro-Palestine post, club seems a far way from its roots and the Wenger/Dein days

While Spurs play along with the Yiddish trope Arsenal were always the more Jewish of the 2 clubs at board level

Are you implying that would that make Arsenal more forgiving of such behaviour
Is there a common link between Jeffrey Epstein, Harvey Weinstein, Woody Allen, Roman Polanski, Alan Dershowitz, Al Franken, Brett Ratner by the way?
