Some atmosphere in that arena. They hadn't a gold medal on home soil before this and they went and won 14, including breaking the record for most golds at any Winter Olympics.

Aye but sure loads of events didn't exist as Olympic events up until the last few Games.

Have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the last 2 weeks. Cracking entertainment and by all accounts its been a huge success all round (barring a few hiccups). Makes me proud to be a Canadian!!!!

sure they can use the profits to help pay off the still lingering debts from Montreal '76.

Glad to hear (didn't see it as Channel 9 had fcukin ruined the Olympics for everyone in Australia, especially in Western Oz) that the Canucks won the gold in the hockey.

But the moment of the games for me is that German speedskater.  Typical steadfast German resolve.

I loved the idea of reducing the numbers for OT in the Ice Hockey.

9 v 9 extra time in soccer anyone?

Great win for the Canucks. Fair Play to them. The medal ceremony was one of those events that made the hair stand up on your neck. Oh Canada sung by thousands of fans. Excellent.

Anyone watch the closing ceremony - John Furlong (ex Tipp man) now the CEO of the Vancouver Games committee gave a good speech - but his French accent needs a lot of work!  Neil Young, Avril Livigne, Michael Buble, Michael J. Fox, William Shatner (proud that canadians know how to make love in a canoe) - good enough entertainment.

Already looking forward to TaTu closing the Sochi 2014 games  :D

Two points:

1. There's no such thing as an ex Tipp man.

2. Is Olly writing Shatner's scripts?

so the next olympic games is in London anyone planning on heading over?
