They are renowned for running with the hare/fox and hunting with the hounds.

Gerry donating the €100k to the homeless in Ireland , Gaza and the Irish language .
Just brilliant given that bbc were considering appealing the decision
Very little press on the gesture but plenty on the trial

Pub Bore

BBCNI would be stone mad to appeal this.

A person with a skill set and ability in that a lot of other high profile politicians across many parties couldn't lace her boots yet has disappeared completely of the radar since being elected as an MP.

If SF had any cop on they would have put her into border constituency along the southern side of the border.

She could more than handle herself in the Dail.

Interesting to see Sinn Fein opposing Ireland contributing to the EU loan for Ukraine. And in Europe Sinn Fein MEPs continually refuse to back EU votes condemning Russia.

What is it about this one particular imperialist, land-grabbing, colonial invader that Sinn Fein like, when they've built their identity on violently opposing another?

They can't bear to be on the same side as the Brits.

Sad, but probably true.

Seen some commentary the other day about the old guard whove been about for decades but have lost lot of faith in the leadership, men and women who have brought the party to where they are now for it to be overtaken by populists and attention seekers, who is going to provide the muscle for canvassing and give them some credibility in the working class heartlands they rely on in a few years when theyve passed on. The new crowd arent capable of that

It's about time to close the place down, the tit for tat politics needs to be done and a clear out of the MLA's

I've no confidence in any of the people up there to actually see through one flipping project

None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

Agree 100% if you asked the folks on the hill to list metrics regarding day to day life they have had a positive contribution to in the last 25 years you would be waiting a while.  Stormont is basically a gravy train that a lot of people have jumped on and have brought with them their family members and all other sorts of hanger ons with everybody filling their pockets.

Unionism doesn't want Stormont to work, they believe it's a step to a United Ireland.

Two Unionist ministers have fallen foul of the ethics in public office committee and are ignoring the outcomes of the investigations into their actions even though one apologised..

Then wee Jamie requests the PSNI investigate the actions of Paula Bradshaw and Michelle O'Neill over a meeting or other.

They want direct rule instead.

Which is a fallacy as Stormont and power sharing is the best they can hope for. DR would hasten the drive for a UI in my view. It would motivate more of the 'happy as we are' nationalists. But to be honest, they are dinosaurs running towards the asteroid. Change can't be stopped, and given the figures, it's only going one way. How long that takes might take is another matter. If they had any long term planning, they should be trying to get their best deal now in a new Ireland rather than letting their influence erode for another 30 years.
