A couple of wee changes in the dates/venues above.

Onlooker

Just a note, drici, that Junior Hurling team Blackrock are from Limerick.  They are "no relation" to the famous Cork club of the same name!.

Munster Club JHC Final

Monday December 14 2009

DAVE MOLONEY scored a point from 90 yards in injury-time to give Blackrock of Limerick victory in a thrilling game in Mallow. It was a deserved win for the team from Kilfinane and Ardpatrick, with Ritchie Murphy, in particular, outstanding for them. Blackrock trailed by two points at the interval, 0–11 to 1–6, but two points by Ritchie McCarthy levelled the sides soon after the restart. As the game moved into injury-time, a replay looked to be on the cards before Moloney's late intervention.

Ballyconnell is a vibrant and picturesque town in West Cavan located on the Shannon-Erne Waterway. This waterway links the Shannon and Erne rivers. This canal was initially opened in 1856, but was re-opened recently for cruisers, boats and canoes to explore the waterway. Balllyconnell is located 28km from Cavan town.

Ballyconnell is a lively town,  with a number of pubs, restaurants and nightclub. The nearby 4****Slieve Russell Hotel  & Country Club has an 18-hole championship golf course, par 3 course, tennis courts, country club, several bars and restaurants. Nearby ODD Gamespark provides outdoor activities for active groups in search of some high octane fun activity.

AIB GAA Hurling All Ireland Junior Club Championship 2009/2010
Semi-Final
Ballyconnell, Cavan 2.30pm Calry/St Josephs (Sligeach) v Naomh Colum Cille (Tír Eoghain)
Referee: Brendan Sweeney (An Cabhán)
(E.T. if Necessary)

Unusual to see a Sligo team as Connacht champions - would normally be Galway teams in the mix at this stage - this looks like a really good chance for Naomh Colum Cille to get to the Final if they can put in a decent performance.

Never beat the deeler

Indeed, you have to go back to 1983 to find the last time a Sligo team (St Mary's) won the Connacht title.

However, you'll find that Mayo teams have won 5 of the last ten, with 4 for Galway and one for the Rossies

Edit: messed up with the quote function

What, just because it's a Sligo team? Are you saying they wouldn't have as good a chance if it was a Galway team that won Connacht?

OK i'll retract that last part - on further investigation i see they have beaten Skehana (Galway) in the Connacht Final.  However the first part still stands - unusual to see Sligo team as Connacht Hurling Champions.  ;)

Different in Connacht though. Calry/St Joseph's are senior champions in Sligo while all the Galway teams are junior sides hence you sometimes get non-Galway winners in the junior championship.

That Black and White Kilkenny score is frightening. Do Naomh Colm Cille (Tyrone) really want to face into that in Croke Park?  :o
Of course they do!!  :P Bring it on! Good luck tomorrow!!
