So it's that time of the year again. Always great viewing around Christmas.

Can anyone stop Taylor this year again? Wade has to be his biggest challenger, not forgetting Barney as well.

First shock of the tournament, Mardle beaten 3-0 by some German, Artut. Not a fan of Mardle anyway, so good to see him out. Great entertainer, but not a good darts player.

Priestley and McDine on now. Priestley 2-0 up. Started of slow but picking up pace now, Priestley got 2 great check outs,150 and 140.

Taylor on next.

I was watching some qualifier on sky, he had three kids and was only a part time player, I cant for the life of me remember his name, does anyonne know who I am talking about, I was hoping he woukld make it through a round or two for the experience, he seemed like a decent skin.

There was a qualifier on earlier, Perez (Phillipines) beat Laursen (Norway) 4-3 and will play Thornton after Taylor tonight.

McDine came from 2-0 down to win 3-2. Some great darts in that game. Add in that McDine was hobbling about and in alot of pain with a sore knee. Got alot of checkouts on the bull which is nice to see.

Very comprehensive win for Taylor there. Won 3-0 without losing a leg including getting a 170 checkout. Can't see him being stopped even at this early stage.

He is unreal. Would go as far as saying he's been one of the best sportsman this decade. In what other sport have you seen a player dominate as much as he has. He's a very likable person as well.

2 sessions on today, 10 matches. There is an Irishman throwing in the preliminary round tonight, Aodhagan O'Neill. If he wins that he's up against Adrian Lewis in the last match tonight.

It's even worth tuning in to see the walk on girls, especially the blonde one (Nicola Cowell), and the new dancing girls on stage. Since when did darts get so glamourous?

And here are some of the girls:

What do people think of Andy Hamilton's chances? hes currently 120/1 on betfair. Could be a decent each way bet, given he is on the opposite side of the draw to taylor and barney.

He's in the same side of the draw as Barney, Wade, Anderson and Jenkins to name a few. He could potentially meet Wade in the 3rd round.

Think the venue they use now comes across as crap on tv. Appeared to be a far better atmosphere when the crowd were up close to players in the old venue.

Earlier rounds are a bit quiet, but great for big games and from quarter final onwards. Also great in the premier league when 8,000 odd people in an arena.
