It seems that a new 300 million Euro by-pass in Carlow will not be opened until after Christmas following representations from a petrol station owner on the old route to the minister of Transport. The NRA said the road is ready to go next Monday, but the minister won't sign off on it until early Jan. I can't find a link anywhere but it was discussed just before 8 on Morning Ireland. The reason the minister's department gave for not opening the road was " it's too close to Chriatmas". Good to see the greater good is put before self interest by FF. This country .............................

Pardon the pun but they've done a U-turn and it will open on Monday. Just on news.

Dempsey will have to return the petrol station owners' FF donation and membership card so. :D
